Trigger Gems Balanced or not?
" I have a question if you do not mind what do you mean by flat or non flat reduction? is it like this you have block reduction gem at lv20 with 30% block reduction vs 45% block chance what is the exact reduction will be 45% - 30% = 15% the resulted block chance OR 45% * (1-0.3) = 31.5% the resulted block chance Thanks in advance for clarification :) |

" Facebreakers dont need to be hitting for 900+ damage with counter gems to be viable when they 1 shot with shield charge, out regen everyone, and have by far the meanest cyclone. Not to mention overkill damage from shield charge on traps and everything else low life. Not every single one of their abilities need to be 1 shotting imo. I Stream PvP Twitch.tv/GrindcoreTHRALL

" So for your defence on that ridiculous post you made, you thought that by pointing out one past mistake of mine you would get on top or something? The fact still stands that your comment (regarding fb) is still ingorant showing that you have no sense of balance. As for my mistake about BCR in the past : 1) I said it was an honest mistake and fixed it as soon as possible. 2) Never we were given an official answer whether the chance is additive or multiplicative (neither on live or alpha server), and for the matter i took Vipermagi's word that reductions are always a multiplier. 3) Up to this point there are hundreds who still dont know how it works I would honestly expect far more constructive and meaningful posts/feedback from a player who actually has invitations for the pvp season 1 final event. So once more i suggest you THINK before posting. " Exactly what grindcore said, 1hit K.O. mechanics dont belong in pvp Inundated with cockroaches, I am

He made a good point about them not being able to win the multi round events, whereas you just acted like a bit of a dick with no clarification until later on. Be productive with your posts, calling each other stupid isn't productive. If you feel he's incorrect, prove you're not also an idiot by elaborating.

I dont want to derail the thread even more cause it addresses a very hot topic that needs fixing, and i for once believe as grindgore also said in his OP to fix the trigger gems.

Spoiler
I would call myself cynic and definately not a part of a male's reproductive system. That being said, my post was helpful to the OP, since first i shared my opinion about the triggers, and then the quote/comment i made was appropriate to that comment, with only a small touch of harshness. In contrast your comment has nothing to do with the OP at all, and if you wanted to give me a "lecture" of any kind you could have just messaged me, no? The same applies to my second post on this thread too, you could have seen that but instead you choose to rumble.

" Sadly, this is absolutely correct. Facebreaker will die and go back to low tier where it came from. As a compromise, I'd like to suggest the trigger gems do closer to 1/3 or 2/5th of your base damage, rather than 75 to 100% in some cases. This means they can still proc as often (perfect for builds that use LGoH or Blind on them instead of dmg) while lowering the dmg output to others. Allowing only one trigger on them will hurt diversity. Adding a cooldown on all triggers if one procs, would affect pve. This means the simplest method for GGG is to use pvp scaling (something already in the game) to adjust the damage. Although they destroy in certain gamemodes as Oats pointed out, they are still not top tier in blitz/Swiss and will easily fall back to low depending on how this goes. Note: a lot of people want to see cyclone get nerfed and the strongest variation of facebreakers is the cyclone one. This means facebreaker would get toned down as they tone down 2hand cyclone. Furthermore, shieldcharge could also get nerfed because similar to Flicker or Whirling, it is intended as a moment skill/gap closer, not a 1 shot mechanic. tl,dr: Nerf cyclone, shield charge and trigger gem base dmg and facebreaker will remain good, but not op. The bad thing with trigger gems is how they proc more often if your opponent attacks fast. This way the melee meta is shifting to slow hard hitting attacks which favor 2H and FB. Imho the more often they get triggered the less damage they should deal - within reasonable limits.

" Who are you to judge saying that I have no sense of balance? I played lld for quite some time now. You dont get to judge if I have a sense of balance or not. :) And I did give meaningful feedback in my first post in this thread. Youre the one that quoted only the first sentence of my post and ignored the rest, and told me to "think before posting, it might hurt a bit" lol Did you read the part where I explained as to why facebreakers suck? go read it buddy. you know, this all would not have happened if you just treat others with respect. Shit throwing contest like this happens on forums because of disrespecting pricks like you. | |
" its funny because 2hand cyclone is not nearly as OP as facebreaker cyclone with trigger gems. On top of this 2h cyclone is more vulnerable to spell casters as well as range attacks since they have no shield. If you nerf 2h cyclone it would suffer far more than trigger gem damage being reduced on a facebreaker. Facebreakers can kill most melee without even attacking due to trigger gems. 2Handers dont even come close to doing the same damage with trigger gems and also can use only 1, vengeance, compared to all 3 which facebreakers mostly take advantage of. Stack block, phys gear, life, trigger gems, and then just shield charge and trap and run away until u get a clean shot. They can easily tank most damage and get to a safe spot to heal. Most shield charges kill in 1 shot anyways. Cyclones damage has been adjusted and runs through the T formula....Trigger gems have hardly been balanced, so there is a large reason to believe they still need adjustment.
