I have decided to switch back to Necromancer so anyone looking at my build should be aware that it now diverges significantly from the guide. Damage as Elementalist was good but I was just dying too often in high level maps and was still running out of mana periodically. I have not played a lot since switching so I am not saying Necro is better yet. I can say that damage dropped by a ton at least at first but last league I was able to get it pretty high and I hope to do so again this league. Mana regen is absurdly good after the change and it is always full so I might be able to make some changes there for more damage. I am hoping that the changes will allow for a less panicked playstyle where I can cease having to worry about random one shots during regular mapping. I am also liking not having golems running about messing up the works or having to worry about them getting blown away and having both damage and survivability go into the dumpster without much warning.
Great build. Clearing end game content. How do I craft the end game wand? I have the mods "Trigger a socketed spell.." and "Can have 3 modifiers" but I dont know in what order to begin crafting.
You use three mods first but post the wand and we can help you decide if that's a worthwhile craft on the wand as it is very expensive. Also keep in mind that you can still only have 6 mods so you want 3 good explicits and then the craft for 3 mods takes up one of the remaining three and then trigger the 2nd and the 3rd is then your choice. You would need to have two open suffixes and then one more open suffix or prefix for the third mod.
Got a question here. Do i have to run Cloak of Defiance or can i change it into Inpulsa's Broken Heart if i feel that my survivability is good? Is it even worth it?

Thank you for responding. I am definitely confused on the correct order of operations Here is the wand Im using.

How did you come by that sceptre? At this point I think you need to regal it to get it to be rare so it can have more mods. Once that is done then you can hopefully craft two additional useful mods onto it.
I'll start this off by saying thank you as this is my first character in PoE and following this guide has helped me out so much in navigating this extremely complicated but also extremely rewarding game.
I'm having some trouble navigating the very beginning of mapping, mostly with survivability. Could somebody take a look at my character and give me some advice? I had no idea what kind of things to be doing before starting mapping so I just figured I'd jump in at low level maps.
Thanks in advance.
Check your resistances but overall I think you should go back and read through the guide again. You are missing a lot of the gear that you need to start acquiring when you start mapping. Also look at the recommended flask setup. The next four levels you get should be put toward jewel sockets and you will want to read that section to learn which are the ones you want and where to put them.
Thanks. How should I go about getting that gear then? Trade? Farm in the areas mentioned in the leveling section? I'm just confused as to what activities I should be doing now, before mapping, to get what I need FOR mapping.

I tried looking at your PoB yesterday, but I'm pretty sure you were still in the middle of respecking so it wasn't a truly accurate snapshot. The one concern I remember having was your ability to proc EO. Are you keeping it up consistently?

I have to play more to be sure but it seemed fine. I left the two crit nodes by the start selected and have a couple of decent crit mods on items. The extent of my testing is blasting through some t16 maps. Ran into a couple of situations where the lower damage was not helpful (but I can improve on that) and a couple where I think the Elementalist version would have certainly died so for now I am pretty satisfied but did keep all my prior gear in case I want to switch back. If it is an issue then I might switch Controlled Destruction for Chain Support if I can find the Dex to make it work.

Trade is probably your best bet. You won't be able to buy the best stuff right away, you buy what you need to get through blue maps and then again for yellow and then again for red. Run maps, build out your atlas, get the bonus completions to get more maps, pick up currency, repeat, repeat, repeat. In the gear section there are some trade links to help you get started. I don't think you can really target farm the gear and crafting can be fairly advanced but some of the essences can be useful when you start mapping to target some mods. The largest QOL thing you can do right now is get a trigger wand (buy it) and switch the hextouch to blade blast.
You can look at the builds others have, don't look at mine as it is no longer in keeping with Enki's, to see what it starts to look like at higher levels.
The extra flask slot they free up is amazing. Personally, I use a quartz flask to augment the dodge chance:
But there are other options, too. Here are a few:
If only the cost for pathing to Acrobat/Phase Acrobatics wasn't so steep; these keystones fit exactly right in our build...
Dude, I feel that so hard. I've been trying to figure out a workable way for several leagues now that doesn't shit all over the rest of the build, but you just lose soooo many skill points. That said, others here (and elsewhere) have had apparent success, but I haven't mustered the energy to try it myself yet.
On the Quartz flask I opt for more charges personally though.
I find myself playing piano in a rapid tempo and then the longer duration is wasted anyway.
I follow your logic and may give it a try. It'd be a no-brainer for sure if we could squeeze a full three uses out of it. My thinking was more along the lines of "how can I make having to backtrack across a map with Temporal Chains LESS of a pain in the ass?" for which the increased duration is a bit better. Yours is probably better for Sirus, though, since you get some flask charges back at the beginning of each of his invincibility phases.
I think the Granite flask of Iron Skin is way better to smooth out damage instead of blocking everything or nothing.
The Agnostic synergizes better with a smooth damage intake and it's the big damage spikes that usually screw us over.
I went back and forth about it and eventually decided on the option that gave me 35% attack block chance. With the boots and quartz, that is basically a 50% chance to avoid a would-be one-shot (with flasks up, obviously). However, you could be right. I'd be curious to see how much additional phys damage reduction you get out of that versus one without that suffix. If I were going to go for it, I'd probably try for one with the alchemist's prefix instead--I bet that'd provide even a few points further reduction.
