You have to get the ratio between Life and ES+Mana right for MoM to work properly. Mathematically your ES+Mana should be a little bigger than Life / 0.7 * 0.3 . This will ensure that when you get hit your Life will run out a little before your ES+Mana, therefore not leaving you pants down without mana, but instead dead before that happens, and that was probably a mechanical error on your part then =P

I didn't quite get that now.. Care to explain a bit? How can your life get chipped off if you still have ES available with EB+MoM?

On a side note.. How much ES are you theorycrafters aiming for to be comfortable with this build in endgame content?

I just don't see this thing working out with EB+MoM. It doesn't matter if you have 500 or 2000 ES, if you get hit hard once, you're with your pants down for next couple of seconds because you can't cast anything.
Most of the comments that I see here are about leveling and early maps.. Even syndicate is total BS at the moment, most of the time a single hit will put you down to 0 ES, and then you're just running around hoping not to die in next couple of seconds :/
Also one more thing that I've noticed is that I don't even have enough sustain to stand still and spam Arc when I actually could do so..
Very rippy all in all compared to godlike performance in 3.5 ;<

I gotta have to disagree. I've done multiple SSF testruns and leveled it in SSF Synthesis just fine, and while the thread may not reflect that very well right now, there has been lots of positive feedback on my stream.

As always, I will continue to monitor feedback and improve the build further. Some of those changes may be to change back to the old Ascendancy order (Paragon first, then going towards Beacon) and using Zealot's Oath until we have a different source of ES Regen, which eliminates the "one big hit and all ES is gone" issue.

Leveling process was fine for me as well, the usual zap and move on for most of the time, but once I switched to MoM it changed drastically.
Hopefully this will improve with a lot bigger ES pool.

What about the sustain to stand still and spam cast issue that I've pointed out? I literally run out of mana(ES) after a couple of seconds of spamming Arc with high cast speed.. Perhaps there should be a treshhold for cast speed considering that energy leech gem is pretty weak (imo)..

Edit-double posted, sorry about that.

I've made some improvements yesterday, one of them being to use Herald of Thunder until we have all the reduced reservation nodes, so we're able to run Enfeeble during the acts. Sounds like you were right between those two steps when i've changed it, apologies for that! Just switch Wrath to Herald of Thunder, but keep the former in your secondary weapon slot to let it gain experience.

Thanks for all the work on the build, and for the quick reply! I'll read over the changes and adjust accordingly!

Minimum should be 1k ES, ideally you want 43% of your life pool as ES for MoM to properly work. Please try out Zealot's Oath and let me know if it fixes the issue.

People loved the Lightning Spire Trap last league, when it wasn't a part of this build yet, and it is indeed a huge boost to many bossfights. Skipping it would cause lots of disappointment in here.

It was pretty hard to come up with a gem setup that fits everything in for this build version, and CwDt + IC had to get dumped. The physical damage bursts it protects against are usually mitigated enough by the new Pantheon and Flask setup.

MoM only leads to 30% of your incoming damage to be redirected to Mana and because we have EB, our ES protects that mana, so we have 2 Defensive Pools: Life and Mana+ES.

When any damage comes in 70% of it will be deducted from Life and 30% from Mana+ES. Mathematically this means that if your Life to Mana+ES Ratio is 70%/30% = 0.7/0.3 = 2.333333... , in other words, if your Life is 2.3333 times your Mana+ES, then both of your Pools will empty at the exact same time and your character will die.

If your Life is more than that then your ES+Mana will run out first and you will have a little Life left while having 0 ES+Mana. If your ES+Mana is more than 0,4286 times your Life (1 / 2.333333...) then your life will run out first, therefore always leaving you with a bit of Mana+ES before you die.

I hope that made it clearer, though it might just have confused you even more xD

This is pretty new to me since I've probably never had more than 200 ES on any of my chars (aka never played ES builds).
I'll look into this, but from currenty experience with MoM+ES, I only saw my ES drop down to 0, and then life while still hammering on any ES that might have regened in the meantime.. Unless I'm missing something still :D
For all those nay sayers out there...this build is still very viable, and I project it to be stronger than before. I am recommending Decoy Totem (I haven’t checked Enki’s leveling updates, so this may have already been done) be put back into the leveling section and possibly be replaced with Flame Golem upon completion of Uber Lab. I’m nearly done with A9 and haven’t bothered with MoM yet. There’s no issue thus far but I can see where a lack of boss mechanic knowledge would make it a real problem. Also, as someone else had mentioned earlier, you have a greater uptime of dps with less time running away.

For all those who don’t like Lightning Spire, I agree it is fairly weak while leveling. In late game, however, it is a beast, especially if in a 5L or 6L shaped gloves (should be about 5x your Arc dps as a 6L). You can try replacing Controlled Destruction with Advanced Traps which would be my recommendation anyways. The utility is worth the dps loss imo.

For MoM to be most effective, you want 43% of your life in your mana pool. This will ensure no hit completely drains your mana. With EB all we are doing is replacing mana with ES. So ideally you want 43% of your life as ES. If you keep it around 30% or higher, only really big hits that should be avoided anyways will be an issue.

With Basic gear + The Devouring Diadem + Inpulsa I get about 537k DPS on Arc: https://pastebin.com/41ny7UeL
(I only changed the Level 90 Talent tree because I wasn't as competent with PoB when I started this)

So we have to give up the blasphemy setup. :( Sad Witch.
