Elemental Buzzsaw & Static Strike - Solo the entire game, quickly and cheaply 1.1.0 update

I am pretty new to this build ( and been away for a while from PoE)

I am loving this build so far.. but have some questions, probebly stupid questions haha

1. Why use the 2x purity aura's? for the +4 to the max restistance? Is that such a great defensive boost? Why not evasion aura or haste aura for faster movement and attack speed.

Isnt Elemetal Equiribrium an option? I got nice'ish spread elemental damage, cold, light, fire is pretty close to each other damage wise.

Cheers!

You mostly deal fire+lightning dmg so those +7 max resists from purities (it's not +4 because you have +aura effects) will help greatly with reflect but also free up space in gear to look for other stuff. I don't even know what you mean about elemental equilibrium. You deal all the types of dmg in a single hit so you give them +25% to all resists and don't lower anything so how does that help?

Im new to this build and im really enjoying it.

do you think it will be changes to this build after the update?

Thanks a lot :)
There are some rumors aura changes will rip this build, we'll just have to wait and see. Even though I've somewhat had my fill of the build I'd be sad to see it made useless/go like this.

Same deal for arc. I was really looking forward to doing a lightning caster build for rampage but I keep getting told I should try summoner builds. People feel they're going to be all the rage for the 3 month leagues.

Back on topic, there will have to be changes as there's going to be a passive tree reset. We'll have to wait and see how it's updated. New aura gems and changes to auras/skill tree could maybe even work in favor of the build. It could make it weaker or even completely useless. I like to hope it won't be completely deleted. It's a very well thought out one.

Thank you for the reply.

I have a ranger 81 with this build and if we dont get a big nerf i will do it again on rampage league.

Im thinking to do a scion or shadow, someone knows if the 24% projectile dmg on shadow do a big diference?
Same difference as ring with 25%.

While going crit is the endgoal of such a build, it isn't necessarily better for mapmods/survivability.

A basic lifebased crit version will have less life and more issues against mapmods compared to this build. The biggest benefit to Mathil's buzzsaw is that all mapmods outside bloodmagic are no problem at all with some barely affecting you.

Quick list of things that get harder with a life crit version(whether elemental of physical). Enfeeble, half regen, no regen, reflect. It's obviously better for clearspeed though.

Disagree with Enfeeble, doesn't matter.

Half-Regen is okay with EB, no regen is gay - buzzsaws are awesome for trivialising no regen.

Reflect shouldn't matter with a good build because of Ondar's and if your build is really nice you'll also be running Arctic Armor for fire reflect.

Just started this build a few days ago and finally having fun again with the game. Wish I made it alot sooner.

If they nerf / destroy this build with the new patch, after just having featured it in the weekly build, I'm going to throw a serious fit.
Maybe its just me thinking im godly and can tank mobs but im having a hard time keeping my life up even in 66 maps if something hard gets to me i cannot leech much life since my ST is using 100ish per hit

My armor is really really low (404?) so i know why im getting hit hard but that was the point of leech wasn't it? if not my old build was most likely better since i could never run out of mana even with AA lvl 10 on (but i would have to regear since my gear wasn't for it)
