With how much whining is going on, let's redub this to Patch 1.0.0qq.

agreed. People are complaining way too much without even seeing or playing with changes in full. Lots of changes aren't even in the patch notes.

Just to extend that outwards...

It's like saying people shouldn't complain about ObamaCare because they haven't seen it in action yet. You don't have to fully experience something to know that it doesn't even work on paper.

Except, you know, your example is a moot point, backed up with findings from a bipartisan congressional committee, but this isn't the place to debate politics.

Once again I notice how you insist that this is a nerf to solo play, despite GGG increasing the monster hp for additional players and also not knowing the details on the new aura nodes and the auras themselves. Not to mention Chris stating that blood magic will be more powerful than before.

Do I think this patch is gonna be perfect? hell no. Will it need major rebalance patches in the near future? hell yes.

Do I think the game is moving in the proper direction? hell yes.
Looking good overall. Only mistake are the legacy items imho
and what IF, all the items we got so far became irrelevant after the full game release? makes sense for me...

it is open beta .. changes happen
besides most games wipe characters after beta .
Launch!
I'd still like to get some more information on the endgame map system. Weren't there changes coming to the maps?

As a solo player myself, I can count quites some nerfs for myself which others already have mentioned. About the auras, currently I'm running grace & wrath on health (513 reserved life on a 5400 life pool) and running hatred, purity & anger on my mana. Using Bringer of Rain has the downside of not using a chest and the helm is not providing any kind of resist. I just have to run purity to get my resistances capped. While I allow myself to run 5 auras, it took me quite a while to get enough mana regen & health to support this into my character. After this change I probebly can only use purity and mayby grace with a reduced mana gem, while having less mana leftover for my actual skills. Seems like a huge nerf to melee builds, especially if you play with the blood magic keystone (can't even use grace anymore?)

Hope to see that maps will be changed as well if played solo. Last weekend I spent more then 60 exalts of currency (chaos/chisels) just to do 72~77 maps. The only reason I had this amount of currency was because I had 89/90 uniques on the challenge and sold the most valuable uniques on standard, which took me about 2 months to obtain those.

Just some personal complain I still have with the game. Don't get me wrong, I love this game ALOT! It's just that these kind of things can really frustrate me :/

Balance Changes - Items:

40% of the item quantity bonus for additional party members is now shifted towards item rarity. Gems and currency items still receive the old item quantity bonus.
Diminishing returns for player item quantity and item rarity have been changed so that they are slightly less effective.
Item drops from Merveil, Brutus, Vaal Oversoul, Piety and Dominus have been substantially increased in Cruel and Merciless difficulties.
When using Orbs of Fusing, you're now 233% more likely to roll four linked sockets and 25% more likely to roll five linked sockets.
The implicit resistances possible on the Prismatic Ring have been reduced slightly.
The damage of two-handed weapons has been increased.
New higher physical and elemental damage mods have been created for two-handed weapons.
Bows also receive the increased damage and the new two-handed physical damage mods, but only have access to one-handed elemental damage mods.
Staves have received new higher two-handed spell damage mods.
Some of the rarest Unique items can now only drop from end-game Maps.
The drop rate of the Glassblower's Bauble has been substantially reduced.
When traded to a vendor, three Bazaar maps now become an Academy Map, instead of a Precinct Map.
New implicit mods have been added to the Maraketh Bow (Weapon Elemental Damage) and the Harbinger Bow (Local Crit Chance).
The Resplendent mod can no longer spawn on shields.
All shield defences have been reduced by 17%.

Does this mean that now we can never drop a shav,lyoneye,thunderfistetc... or a Kaoms in non map area...... ?

If this is really the case I find it really sad and I cannot understand the way behind such a change... Why GGG, why would you cut of some of the content the vast majority of people will NEVER do end-games maps.

Please tell me one good reason for this, because otherwise it's a huge mistale on your part. I'am really sad, I was litterally smiling and enjoying the game in hope I can drop somedays something like this but If I can't even hope to drop there's no incentive to play anymore.

Please GGG respond.

If this
Just want to pass along congratulation to the team at GGG for finally reaching this milestone. Hopefully all those years of hard work will pay out dividends and you can all sit back in a couple of months and actually get to play the game you made at least for a couple of days.

A couple of thoughts on the patch notes:
1. awesome changes to the auras. I really hope you didn't over flood the skill tree with mana reservation reduction nodes so folks still can stack 3-5 auras.

2. legacy uniques. I am in agreement with a lot of the player base that thinks this is still a completely stupid idea of handling changes the stats on uniques.

3. with all the crying about the changes it looks like downloading shouldn't take to long with all the folks that are quiting and for that I thank you.

4. you still haven't made enough changes to party play to off set the HUGE advantages of party play over solo play. I won't even get into the lack of changes to end game maps for solo players.
Luke: Sorry we have to leave you here, but it just ain't right to eat your wife's and daughter's brains. Plus you're really disgusting and I don't want to spend anymore time with you.
