Late to the party, because Netflix, but just finished Beastars s1. Not what I expected, but sasuga Orange. Can't say it's better animated than Houseki but I forgot it was CG half the time so that's a big plus. Amazing voice work. Surprise Otsuka is always welcome. Very nuanced show.

The surprising-but-not-really post-Babylonia announcement is monumental. You're looking at the Avengers of anime. Pretty much every top tier seiyuu will be in there, many of them playing multiple roles. It's just going to be fight after fight after fight with some fanservice throughout.

Well, now I definitely can't die.

Bofuri, Chihayafuru, Blade of the Immortal. Three excellent finales in one day. We felt pretty damn spoiled!

Blade stuck its landing. Pretty much as good as could it have been. AOTS for me. And that's with Babylonia and Eizouken next to it. Hamasaki is a fucking legend. And thank god it was on Amazon Prime only: no censorship at all, no dimming, not artifacting. Shame about the subs but oh well.

I put it below Sword of the Stranger but above Kenshin Tsuiokuhen. And since it doesn't do the 'sakuga' thing (the animation is incredibly consistent throughout: above average), a rewatch/marathon won't feel uneven or spiky. 9/10 for me. One point off for the length, but for a 24 episode show handling 30 volumes? It realistically couldn't have been better.

Was watching documentaries on these amazing Anime artists. Not sure if anyone has taking an Art class but there’s this distinctive smell in an art room. The smell of paint, acrylics, oils, construction paper... I mean there’s a sort a "this smells like an art room," type of nostalgic for better lack of a word, fragrance.

These documentaries reminded me of why I enjoy Anime/Magna so much... I use to go to a store called Don Quijote and the Japanese market in Hawaii, during class break I would go into specific store, sold Japanese products. One area filled with Magna EVERYWHERE, I just sat there eating my misubi, surrounded by greats.

I would flip through the pages, so amazing the details, the line work... Gradient work phenomenal... I would carefully turn the pages. Did you folks know there’s a correct way to turn pages? Lol...

Watched, "Ghost in the Shell..." Music is so amazing. That scene with the plane over head as she is chasing that guy is breathtaking. I decided to go old school trying to find as many Anime on Hulu, Netflix, crunchy roll, funimation... When some of the greats were still around... Legends.

Tat said, I much prefer this piece from the same Kawai concert, from Oshii Mamoru's crazy-awesome Polish live action film 'Avalon' (about as close to a real life, not totally shitty Ghost in the Shell movie as you'll ever see):

Fun fact: The same composer, Kawai Kenji, is also responsible for pretty much every memorable Fate/Stay Night theme from the otherwise iffy Deen series, including the legendary 'Sword of Promised Victory' when Saber finally unleashes her Noble Phantasm.

Going to give Ghost in the shell a try this evening. Only manga that is on my external harddrive.

If you are into classical music, (I know a bit off topic), listen to the soundtrack made for Myst 4. Sadly I cant find the original recordings anymore.

Yeah, I have all those AHEMed. Jack Wall's pretty good. Not really my flavour but good.

I dropped out of Classical Music and fell in with the Soundtrack louts years ago. Once you get over Williams' insane cribbing of Dvorak and the endless reams of O Fortuna and Dies Irae ripoffs, it's pretty good.

As always thank you. You know I’m holding off on Babylonia just cause I’m afraid of running out of things to watch. Slowly pacing myself lol.

Edit: I saw this video already but every time I watch it gives me goosebumps. I was 17 when I saw Ghost in The Shell for the first time... Olympics... I could agree.
