" Not too happy about the block chance loss, but damage is now 81.3k DPS (100k with Flask), slightly below 5000 HP. With the SoL its still 64.6k DPS and 65/49 Block. Vengeance and Reconing (9/8 now) are combined 28.3k average Damage. For the 2 freed up points i suggest progressing towards the templar melee noteable, giving you 5% life, 14% melee damage, 5% attack speed and 10 strength/int. Or grabbing the 50% shield defences in 1 point at ranger tree + node of your choice. " Shield is a nice buffer but 50% won't cut it unless you are going lioneyes i guess. Taking Retribution seems to be the best option. As for the ring, i think i payed 9ex for it a long time ago. #edit Retribution gave a solid +3k DPS Taking a loot at the 5% life leech i have, i might give vaal pact a try with the next SP. Ok guys finally found some time to play. My first impressions are that:
1. I can't notice any loss in survivability, actually i feal slightly tankier ( due to more armor, a lot more life regeneration, slightly more life, utility from the couter-attack gems ) 2. Cyclone was changed and even tho the tooltip dps stayed the same it feals much more powerful now and it clears maps faster 3. All 3 new counter-attack gems work with unarmed (THANK YOU GGG!) and they are all absolutely amazing! Both as an additional damage source and/or utility( blind,LGoH,life leech etc. ) The new unique shields seems awesome BUT for me lineye's remorse gives me 13k armour. The extra damage will be a huge boost ( around 8-10k dps ) but i really doubt that it will be really noticable ( talking clear speed ). And that reminds me of the following thing. Now for a FB it is possible to reach very high amounts of DPS - with the new shield, more physial damage/attack speed nodes taken from the passive skill tree, haste instead of determination, added fire damage instead of inc AoE ( for cyclone ) something around 75k-80k dps is reachable. The question is - would that be worth it ? Would it be better? In my opinion it won't be. With just 35-40k cyclone dps you are killing everyhing below one second ( meaning that yo kill everything while you are passing tru it ) and the bosses up untill Atziri herself take seconds aswell you just don't need that extra DPS while sacrificing survivability. In the end is it worth it to clear a map lets say 10% faster while losing a lot of survivability ? EDIT: If you play in a full party things are different of course ... but i really can't speak about party play since (like i said on many occasions ) i don't do party play ... at all! Changed my Helmet Gems:
Reckoning, Phys/Fire Damage + Increased AoE to counter attacks from distance. Vengeance looked nice on paper put Reckoning got all the kills, often even the closer ones. PN: Haegar_der_Schreckliche

Don't think vaal pact is worth it because:
1) Most of the times i die to IB is because of the explosions, not the phys reflect. 2) Phys leech won't leech from the explosions which is the thing causing you to die 3) Only way of preventing this is having high fire resist or vaal pact + life leech gem [2.2] The Vampire - Tanky 2H Axe Slayer Duelist - /view-thread/1611662 Last edited by Mannoth on Dec 17, 2014, 3:22:08 PM

" I actually dont have much issues with reflect as long as i'm decently cautious aproaching it. I can even smash groups in groups most of the time. The reason why i want vaal pact is because the normal leech might cap out at some point. Okay, its only worth taking with a life leech gem but for that i need to remove the fire damage gem. Also i could remove the 3 points i spent into the 3% life leech and might be able to replace that leech ring too. If i'll find a ring with >15% all res, 20% Cold Res along with 15 Phys damage and Life i could cut down the Diamond Skin Node aswell, freeing up a total of 4 Points. Now i just need to compensate the Damage loss to some point, any ideas? Things i see are: 2x Melee Damage and Attack Speed with Shield (Down at Testudo +20% pDamage/4%Atk) 3x Elemental Damage (Elementalist +26% Ele DMG/12% all Res/5% Ignite) 3x Fire Damage (Arsonist +40% fDamage/1% Life Reg)(also need a Strength node) I dont know how it calculates might Elemental Damage be the best cause of the Fire and Cold damage?
