3.29 Announcement of The Announcement Soon?

Pretty early to expect it yet.
I also don't see why people need to take a vacation to play this game, but perhaps that's just me.

You're not wrong, people can take time off for plenty of things besides gaming. It's not like the league is disappearing overnight, but if someone wants to push early and make a whole event out of launch day, that's their call.

The mildly amusing pattern is that it's often the same crowd that gets upset if the league doesn't perfectly land inside their PTO window, and then somehow ends up burned out 2 weeks later while asking for the next league 2 months in.

And I don't know, using PTO on something you can already blast during evenings, weekends, and days off feels like an interesting allocation of limited resources. PTO usually shines more with things you realistically can't do during your work week, like taking a nice trip to Japan, wandering through Tokyo, grabbing questionable amounts of convenience store food, seeing places you'll actually remember years later, or doing something that benefits from having uninterrupted time.

That being said, if someone is taking time off for a video game, at least wait until there's an actual confirmed timeframe instead of gambling PTO on optimistic timing and hoping the stars align. Missing the opening weekend of a league isn't exactly a once in a lifetime event.

For myself, the most exciting time in a new league is the first two weeks trying to accrue the currency for a mirror/Mageblood, solving the new league mechanic, and pursueing whatever my particularly goal is early on while engaging with the community while they do the same. I work approx. 50hours over 7 days so using PTO on PoE league starts is certainly a choice, but one I don't see ever regretting. We all have our hobbies that are meaningful to us, right? The stereotype of the unkempt, basement dwelling loner who's lost blinded in a haze of Cheeto dust surrounded by piss jugs might apply to some, but you'd be surprised how many educated, working class people with full lives just have gaming as their hobby. Also, as an adult who games it's one of the less expensive hobbies you can indulge in.

enough with this poe2 nonsense, lets get something straight - poe1 is the best game ever created, poe2 is someones pet project. Invest time where you have player base, i suspect 95% is poe1 and 5% poe2 hence allocate dev resources accordingly. One is core, the other is a nice to have future prospect.

Poe 2 is the future, you like it or not. Once it go 1.0, Poe 1 will recieve 4.0 patch and will be axed completely in 2027.

No reason to think this. July would most likely be the announcement given their normal dev cycle. August for 3.29 makes the most sense, as that would mean month 4 of the league falls in November when Exilecon is and PoE2 1.0 is in December from everything they said.

Anyone talking bad on PoE2 also should try and be a little more understanding and try to be a positive member of the community, rather than cause discontent. I've seen people arguing about player count, but that is irrelevant at the end of the day as long as both games are healthy. Player count only matters when you are just trying to justify why the game is bad since you don't like it. Unfortunately that argument doesn't work, as PoE2 has better numbers across the boarded in most cases.

PoE2 has more players, higher peak, and more viewers during announcement and events than PoE1. PoE1 does have it's own retention that is very good and worth it for them to continue to develop the game as they are, but to say that it is more popular at this point is factually incorrect.

I prefer both games to be good and luckily they are both in amazing shape right now. Hopefully they change it to your liking more, as I know some don't like it.

I'll personally be playing a lot of 0.5, as it looks great and so far my 2k+ hours in PoE2 have been well worth it. I would love to see them even possibly put PoE on the back burner for now, as PoE2 is the future for the company and being the main focus is the best decision, which is why I'm glad they made it.

Have fun in 3.29 though and see ya in a few months after PoE2!

Who knows..

It's always that "weird" period of time between games in general right now.
