After the first campaign run, your characters have an easier time and get through the campaign faster. Which means you CAN equip interesting items.
All the rest is about game knowledge and using what you have to pass the checks that the campaign is challenging you with.
GGG has already worked to make it faster, and they are considering moving skills around so more of them are available sooner.
Let's see what they have cooked up. 2 weeks to go.
- After the first campaign run, my character starts at level 1. You literally can equip the same kind of items as in play through 1 because everything is based on character level. It’s the EXACT same progression.
- the campaign is not hard. It’s just long but not difficult at all. I only get faster in play through 2 because I can CHEAT items into the characters chest that I bought with my end game char on trade.
- also: to be “faster in my second playthrough” is exactly what we are arguing for.
I mean GGG probably thinks a lot about it but yeah, let’s see what kind of ideas they have for this issue.
I just wanna play the game man you know :D getting back to level 1 skills from 20+ is just such a downer.
You underestimate the power of low lvl uniques. All those unique items most people call trash make you speed run through Acts 1 and 2. And by the third you should already have enough knowledge to make it go faster.
The problem is that most speed enjoyers do not even keep uniques, nor do they keep interesting rares items that drop throughout the campaign the first time around.
Each time I start a new league, while going through the campaign I fill 2 stash tabs with good rares to help me with other characters I might make.
I’m not sure how much clearer I can get:
I dont want to be forced to speed through the game. I want the game to open up faster so that when I play it I can do fun stuff sooner.
How crazy is this discussion even: instead of putting our heads together to search for a solution for the obvious problem, people on the one hand tell me that avoiding the second play through is anti art but on the other hand tell me how to speed run through the second play through with items, leveling uniques, “knowledge” :D it’s still avoidance you know..
Let me play 6 brutally difficult acts of interludes where I can use my earned knowledge, earned items and earned resources to bootstrap another character faster without the handholding of campaign. Something that’s so hard that I actually have to play good, know stuff and think about strategy.

I guess this is a hot take but I like the voice acting in the campaign and like listening to the dialogue that each class gets when something new comes out.

Most of time before the endgame content/quests/bosses are concluded there is a will of playing another character
AND that takes 6-8 hours of a campaign we already know by heart and are tired of doing over and over again...
Please ALLOW US to level up faster a new character
We also know the maps and bosses by heart but aren't tired of doing those? Honestly, I think the main problem isn't the campaign, it's the progression curve is off.
It also sounds like you guys want a progress skip, not a campaign skip. For Alts I can understand just wanting to skip the leveling process, but that introduces another problem. Everyone will league start the exact same thing then make an alt of what they actually want because it will be the most efficient thing to do.
I think it might work to allow a progression skip for alts in standard, but for leagues absolutely not.

I don't think many of these people are interesting in grinding anything for too long

- Campaign = progression. That’s the whole point. If you want a character at level 70 you HAVE to play through campaign.
- yes we want a progression skip. Because progression is painfully slow and gets really boring after you ran campaign multiple times per league. Why would I need handholding if I already beat the campaign? I don’t need to play the tutorial a second time.
- first of all, doing campaign + faster second play through is always longer then doing just campaign. So people could do what they want.
- second: this is literally true for the game right now. People go Pathfinder to rush into endgame to bootstrap any character they want. The PROBLEM is that this is really unfun and unfair for people who are not playing this game as or like a job.
I really like league start. I never had problems with campaign first time in a league. My problem starts afterwards.

Why would we? Time is valuable. I pay money to not lose time on unnecessary things every day.

Why play games at all then? Paying for a game just to skip playing the game is not only a waste of money, but also time. Cut out the middleman and do something "productive" with your time.

Make Campaign more rewarding not do the whole thing and end up with maybe 2 divs
it should be rewarding enough to make transition to mapping more enjoyable.
Your allready punished twice with res reduction and have to cope with that leaving you with scraps when you hit endgame
Maybe give a chest upon completing the story to get you going.

You might be on to something with this. Imagine if on subsequent campaign runs, campaign bosses dropped a buffed loot pool that matched your highest character lvl.
I don't think this would solve the problem for everyone though. I think some ppl just don't want to go back to being weak after leveling their character. This is why I though maybe having progression skip on standard (or a non-migratable SSF) might be a good solution.
