0.5 Update Just Confirmed This Game Isn't For Me

You guys spent months designing endgame and pinacle content that most players won't ever be able to complete.

All of this new endgame content is meaningless if the ground loot is still trash and you need to trade for literally every single upgrade. Where's the crafting bench?

You all are talking about fighting 5 bosses at once when people struggle to find the gear needed to fight 1.

And lord help you if you aren't able to play the first few days of a league. You might as well sit out the entire league in that case. The market/inflation happens so fast you won't be able to trade for items either.

You and I clearly watched a different reveal. They showed an actual crafting bench gained through the new league mechanic. We have hundreds of new runes. It seems to me that they put emphasis on being able to more acutely craft specific items. Sure. You cant put all 6 exact modifiers, but it gives you a basis in which to create solid items.
Confirmed it's not for me for the opposite reason.

I want ground loot to matter. Instead, they made is more worthless. Adding new currency and crafting time sinks, new item bases you can only get through crafting. Instead of fighting enemies and getting loot, some of which is awesome, you play the game hoping to drop currencies, or you buy currencies, so you can keep pressing the slow machine button and stacking things to try to push the slot machine odds into your favor.

I was joking the first time I said I think GGG is behind the RMT, but I really wouldn't be surprised at this point. The entire game is designed around layers and layers of gambling.

Not sure how others feel, but socketing stuff hasnt felt like crafting to me. It feels like putting an extra piece of gear on another piece of gear, in a gear slot that is only available if the real gear has a socket.

I feel like socketables are taking away the excitement that equipment was meant to have. It seems absurd to me that in many cases the desired outcome of corruption is an extra socket.

And now they've roped sockets into the rolling of the affixes on the actual gear which i dont understand why. Combining multiple omens with tiered currency already felt bad. and now it might be meta craft socketable + multiple omens + perfect orbs for 1 slam?
Please GGG, I need my sparkly crown MTX in PoE2.

I just looked it up a bit. Tencent is deep into Gacha games and selling in game currencies for real money. PoE is layers and layers of gambling with loads of sites that sell in game currency for real money. It's not hard math to do.

Tencent is big into owning stake in game companies that make money without needing to be managed by tencent. The suggestion that they are making a business out of back end RMT sales through 3rd party vendors sounds like a dumb conspiracy to me.

Please don't associate me disliking socketing with your take.

You need to be waist deep in the end game to use any of those systems. What good is any of it to me if I can't even get my resistances straight or get a decent weapon without having to buy it? All of those new tools may as well not even exist. And let's be real, even if I did manage to get there, the chance of me actually crafting anything of use is probably so infinitesimally small that I'd be better off selling the mats and just buying what I want.
Well, I was expecting an endgame rework. Instead we have the same infinite atlas that they cooked up 2 months before 0.1. Instead they made a bunch of endgame content to pile on top of that broken system. But we'll still have that broken system.

I'll give it a shot but I'm not really excited for what I saw. And as someone else mentioned socketing gear isn't crafting.

Oh, and temple going core? Gimme a break. Temple is so bad. If it dropped the same quantity/quality loot as other endgame mechanics nobody would be playing temple.
I dunno. I've played PoE since 2013 and almost nothing in that stream was exciting to me.

They spoiled the story of the new content then just showed a crap ton of itemization objects. I've never found crafting to be very fun after the Shape/Elder days and we just went way beyond.

PoE1 crafting developed one major issue. You either craft for everyone and no one. It looks like they're trying to have the best of both worlds which isn't going to make anyone happy.

Since I've already seen everything. It just comes down to if there's a build I want to play but since builds are just weapon skills. We don't know yet if there's much worth trying out.

That's exactly why everyone had been screaming longswords.

Definitely agree. If there are no new weapon skills besides the new "ultimate" new resource spending ones (didnt look the greatest to be honest) then I really don't see the motivation to play this league. At this point from the looks of it, probably only play when friends are on and they didnt play as much as I do. For perspective, I have not even logged in since January. Just not feeling it with no real melee changes. Leech nerfed. ES king for 2 years straight now? Really going to depend on how bad CoC and CoA were hit. If they nuke both of those, I really think it will be yet another LA league which I am 100% checking out of before it even starts.
