Standard is garbage for the leagues. Get used to it.
The standard should be completely wiped every year or two. |

" here comes the fun police. |

If it remains as it is, Standard really has no meaning, yeah.
But it would actually be nice if they could do something to make it more interesting. I honestly don’t know what exactly either |

That's the thing - leagues are for people who want competition, fresh starts, and the whole race/speedrun loop. Standard is for people who want to relax, play from time to time, and build something long-term.
I think people also mix up "league" with "seasonal new content". A league is more like a competitive separation or a temporary rule set. Seasonal content does not automatically have to mean everything must be separated from the existing game. You can still add new content into a persistent environment without forcing everyone into a fresh start. It is kind of sad that "league", which literally means a ranked or competitive division, has become the normal way to play a game like this. I think a better long-term solution would be to actually develop Standard as the normal persistent server, while still keeping leagues separate for people who want the reset cycle. People who want to blast through fresh content every 4-5 months would still have that option. But people who want to enjoy the game more casually, develop a long-term account, and still interact with newer updates and content would also have a reason to stay. The "Standard is just a trashcan" mindset is part of why the game feels so redundant after a new league launches. The playerbase spikes, then drops off hard because there is not much keeping people around in the long run. No real community systems, no daily/weekly/monthly goals, no lobby, no social hub, nothing that makes the game feel alive outside the newest temporary league. I know this starts getting into MMORPG territory, but the game already has multiplayer anyway. If PoE2 wants to be different from PoE1, adding a bit more persistent or social content could help. It does not even have to be combat-focused. It could be lobbies, social areas, small events, jumping puzzles, cosmetics, challenges, whatever. Just something that makes Standard feel like an actual part of the game instead of a storage unit. |
|
" So they should add hideouts, guild hideouts, and... cosmetics? Oh, not to mention jumping puzzled in a game with no jumping. |

Instead of just trolling, you could try to understand the concept.
"Jumping puzzle" is just a common term people use for that kind of side activity. Call it a dodging puzzle, movement puzzle, trap puzzle, whatever. The exact name is not really the point. And no, hideouts are not the same thing as lobbies or social gathering areas. The clue is kind of in the word "hideout". It is a private place where you hide yourself away. Guild hideouts are closer to what I mean, and they are good because they make guilds feel more relevant. But the game could still use general lobbies or public social areas too. Just somewhere you can see other players, hang around a bit, and not have the game constantly feel like a single-player game with trade chat attached. |
|
|
A hideout is not an isolation chamber. Multiple people can hang out in the same hideout. Both in real life, and in the game.
As for dodging, movement, and trap puzzles you're free to read how many people hate the Trials and the endless tears that have rained since they were created. If you want to play a game where you can mill around in a room with other toon avatars then Robolox and the like are over that way. |

for most players standard is just a dumping ground that exists so they wont complain their gear is gone
