So disappointed of suport of GGG
" I think he means some sort of rolling back of his account, to restore everything he lost/got stolen. The thing is, you'd need a structure for this and despite being a PoE noob, I have never seen many complaints about hacked accounts. I personally play through Steam and it's very secure if you set your account properly. Had one singular instance of a guy trying to hack both my Steam and personal Gmail address but failed. Maybe I got lucky, I don't know. It's hard to know what really went on with the OP, but if you wrote the same way you wrote to support, no wonder they didn't help you. Stay classy. |

2FA certainly wouldn't hurt.
We're all quick to judge this guy for having weak security but the large majority of us would get easily hacked if someone was interested in stealing our stuff. And this goes beyond PoE. Last edited by Tommo26#1554 on Apr 19, 2026, 12:44:50 PM

" I don't think you understand how hacking works. Other you could specify which side of "us", would get hacked. If this guy had a crap password and/or was phished. Otherwise there'd be much more complaints on this forum about hacked accounts. |

It wasn’t that simple. I had a strong password, and it was strange to me that someone got in without any notification.
The funniest part is that when I reported it, GGG locked my account. Then I spent 3 days sending emails, screenshots, and different kinds of verification — it was a nightmare. [Removed by Support] And on POE 2 , the hacker just logs in and out like nothing happen. Last edited by Ayelen_GGG#0000 on Apr 19, 2026, 5:44:32 PM

" Sounds like somebody got access to more than your POE account. Whenever I have tried to log in from a different location, GGG does not allow it and instead sends me a code. (I would assume this is the same for everyone as I do not see any options for 2FA on the website, unless it isn't in 'Manage Account' or I'm blind lol) Make sure you never open shady emails, never click ads/pop-ups, never RMT, never share your login information. Make sure you use something like uBlockOrigin / uBlockOriginLite for no ads/pop ups/trackers, etc, or other recommended adblockers. Lock down your email account by changing your password and preventing all emails from opening + loading images; you can find this in your email provider's settings. If they for some reason don't have this, you need to change to one that does. Never use the same password for anything. Ever. If someone had access to your email account, look at past logins for locations / ip addresses, etc. Let's work together to make this world a better place :)

OK, sorry that happened.
Kinda feel your pain. Had about half of my loot just "disappear" last season. Not hacked. This happened a while back. There was nothing GGG could do. I originally thought they could check my account history and just "put it back", but nope. The backup apparatus would be huge and very expensive. Untenable might be a better term. However, if they had a running database of what the user had in stash/inventory when the game was last terminated, they could refill from that. After all, the "dwarven hammer of fiery onslaught and death +6" is still the same item, and it's not hard to record the data that your item stats held, like "instant death to all local entities". If poe2ninja can do it, GGG can do it. Just sayin'. |

" Watch out guys, we have someone on the forums who can type 'famous hackers' in a websearch. |

" Very highly doubtful, as there would have been way more users complaining here if it is this easy. Just accept it, you screwed up by either having a crap password, having some sort of crap or your computer, sharing your account or phishing. And that's nothing anybody, except you, can do something about. |

" For having all the time and effort they've put into the game stripped because of ggg's lack in security. Hacked account have been a pretty major issue, since 0.1, clearly wide spread enough to be confident it's a problem on ggg's side. They clearly have to step up their security and make it stop. And if they can't, they should probably try to restore the stolen items from people, at least in standard. Nobody really cares that much about standard economy and current "standard" will be borderline discarded as a "legacy" league when 1.0 comes out (or so they've said) so it shouldn't be too bad.
