Darkness band-aid - desperate call to make it to 0.5

I was refering to defensive spirit gems since it's the point of the conversation. It's better than using wind dancer and ghost dance in this case.

Is it better to have more defense or damage in this game? That is another sad point to talk about eventualy. We all know the answer i believe.

Darkness is by no mean same as some more ES or HP. It could potentialy be broken, why the OP said making it scale too high would be broken. And i agree. I'm not sure what is needed for darkness but it's fine the way it work imo.

With the amount of people crying for it i believe the spirit requirement will be remove anyway at some point. I wont complain when it happen but i believe we need another strong negative to it than.

You cannot selectively exclude major part of what you sacrifice when taking Darkness.

Also, what are you doing man? We advocate for a buff to the system you seem to be top 1 enjoyer in the game, why argue against it?
Also, not a game-breaking buff.
Spirit loss can stay, just merge the nodes.

I like having to choose to sacrifice damage for defense. Maybe i'm weird but it is what it is lol
I wish there were more important choice like that in the game.

Also i think we're good on buff everything is broken in the game tbh =)

But yeah, we'll see. Pretty sure it's gonna be rework anyway. If not this patch a later one.

(Also you're gonna get hate if they merge them because i believe it's one of the most taken node with the flames.)

Yes Darkness is pretty unique across all EHP systems.
It is decently powerful, it reserves each damage instance separately and the reservation timer is not being reset when another damage instance happens, so you are recovering even whilst taking damage.
It also soaks all kind of damage and can be covered with damage taken from Mana too.
Mechanically it is brilliant.
But it is shattered into 3 Notables and Item mods dependency for its limited scaling and that is just too much.
Like said in my post - capped ceiling is reasonable.
Splitting it into 3 Asc Notables and external dependency - not really.
Just merge Chayula's Gift into Deepening Shadows and we are cool. Even nerf it so it caps at 80% instead of 85% Chaos resi or doesn't double the gains, just don't keep it scattered over 3 Asc Notables - it feels bad...
Spirit Sacrifice is massive drawback, but it honestly seems fine if we'd unlock full potential with 2 Asc Nodes instead of 3.

darkness is good but the penalty of no spirit makes it feel like a terrible choice reduce the penalty to 50% less spirit. spirit is currently way too op to have that node be acceptable
