Make Leveling from 96 to 100 more meaningful-Add some small additional reward/motivation
" Cool idea! +1 to this. |

It's more about additional content for me, thats what i miss.
Increased area levels (and loot as a consequence), i dont want a free mirror n stuff. By the time i level up one character to level 100 i can level up another 3 up to level 97, with much more fun and engagement trying different builds than pushing the same one over and over through the same content. 5 cents. |

" As we level up to 90, we also unlock gear with higher level requirements and unlock higher level skill gems. Once we are above level 90, our reward for leveling is nerfed to a single passive point. Isn't the OP essentially suggesting that those rewards at lower levels, which provide a sense of satisfaction and progression, be replaced with something else, so there would actually be less of a difference than there is now? Not my circus. Not my monkeys. I enjoy the grind as it is. I would equally enjoy a grind with improved rewards. I just think that right now there is a huge difference in rewards at the highest levels, and the OP is actually suggesting that there should be less of a difference. |

Any reward, people will feel entitled to obtain.
If you put big incentives for the last levels, players will feel entitled to reaching the last levels. Since most players cannot achieve that, they will ask and push for the last levels to be easier to reach. And GGG will either have to cave-in and make these last levels feel less challenging for engaged players, or say no and frustrate the more casual playerbase. It’s always like this. I think the current situation is best. It’s healthy for a game to have challenging content that rewards nothing. Cultivating a feeling of pure satisfaction without carrot can only be good for modern gaming. Last edited by Kaozium#2036 on Mar 18, 2026, 12:18:28 PM

Sounds like a horrible idea.

It's been interesting as this thread goes along to see how many people didn't seem to comprehend the title. "Add some small additional reward/motivation".
Particularly the word "small". Anyway, the last couple weeks have vastly changed my view on things as after three months in the game I finally tried the Headhunter belt and now I understand that basically no rewards at all are deserved in this game. POE2 in its current state is a mobile one click game where you're in god mode once you put on the right gear. The rest of your gear, your ascendency, your build and attack/spell skill choice will only slightly change the colors polluting your screen to the point you can't see anything anyway. I completely unintentionally got 30% into level 98 in 4 quick temple runs after putting HH on in my 68 room temple. I would still say for those that remain playing the game I'd keep my fundamental argument, it does still take more effort/time/set up to enable getting from 95 to 100, so there should be more of a payoff. But since this game takes the same skill and effort as a Zynga mobile game, I dunno, maybe even that coupon for 10% off a Whopper Jr Value meal would be sufficient reward for getting to 100. [opinion subject to change is temple is heavily nerfed in 0.5, or HH is removed from game] Last edited by Skutz123#5377 on Mar 18, 2026, 4:00:37 PM

" Don't be upset Skutz. Everyone knew it from the beginning of 0.1.0 patch that game will be copied from poe1 at least 80%. Bloodmage doesn't need HH to destroy everything in milliseconds.... For me the most annoying thing is that corrupted items doesn't get affected or deleted after nerfs. So we have two type of players. Those who suffer the consequences of Dev's mess and those who got everything from patch 0.1.0 and judge others hard. The best choice on game release is to erase all currency and items from game and let fresh start establish new balance. Nah who has the guds to do such a marvellous move.... |

" Not upset, it's just a game, but I am disappointed. You'll have to forgive me but those of us who never played POE1 did not know this. Generally wary of "Free" to Play games, because so many in my experience have just been garbage so I never tried POE1. Gave this game a try after reading some articles and commentary saying it was going to have more immersive, thoughtful, and tactical game play than other ARPGs. I was fooled through my first campaign run through. Willing to have some grace and hold out a small amount of hope due to it being early access, but its really just a small sliver of hope. All indications are basically that it's headed toward low skill pew pew blow things up fast with no risk so that you can essentially 'pull the slot machine lever more frequently' game play. There may be a market for this among whoever the community for this game is but barring fixes/changes it won't be people like me, and that's fine. |
