AI will kill PoE and all related online games that have trade

Looking at stuff like Moltbot and the extreme speed at which AI in general and agentic systems in particular progress I think that PoE any any other game that has an online economy is going to get wrecked within the the next year or so. I guess it is time to practice SSF.

Enjoy the remaining leagues where AI bots have not yet taken over our beloved PoE.

What does 'wrecked' mean here in practice ?
It means that this:

(Protecting Your Online RPG’s Economic Integrity by Chris Wilson)

is no longer possible.

No matter the field, topic or forum type, all of these AI posts sound like snake oil salesmen to me. They never include any specifics and even this one reads like an advertisement.

What is AI supposed to be capable of that would "wreck" the economy of PoE and isn't already being done by regular bots?
Keep in mind, training AI is very costly and PoE data is highly dynamic and inconsistant.
yeah sorry, but why would an AI agent be better at trading than regular bots?
And if you need to go deep, no worries, i can follow. So please descibe in depth how an AI agent is in any way "better" than a regular bot. Describe used models or show actual data you have on the topic. Because currently you only namedropped moltbot, an overhyped toy without much value outside of being "cool". Like all "assistants" really.

let me stop you at the start of the interview - at some point in the past chris stated its fine some players to have 100 times more currency than the average player.

also llms are not smarter than a rain worm.
There are some steps GGG could take to make the situation better. There's no reason for the API to be public anymore, let alone the trade website. We do not NEED the ability to live search, or at least add some "behavioral requirements" to be able to live search.

But yeah, in a F2P game where you can make as many accounts as you want, there's no stopping bots.

That is correct. However, they can deincentivise a very large amount of them by removing direct player to player trade, making async trade 1000 % anonymous, and coming up with enough bearable friction in guild stashes and a way to gift items to friends or anonymously. Some of that friction would probably need to include account binding of items.

By all means.

But I can guarantee you that you'll find 400 times more people shouting about account bound items than you'll find shouting about trade. It's all about reading the room. Hell, just an example in this very trade, some people are "willing" to turn the game SSF only, removing the game's identity and alienating 80% of the player base in the process, which is far from "reading the room" in my opinion.

Why would that be a problem when it would be much more fun and helpful to just help a fellow player or friend by starting a game where they can loot several div and good boss specific drops? If it is jist given by a friend without game play involved, why should it not be account bound?
