Spells crit chance is too high.

Some spells have notoriously high base crit, like Comet and should be nerfed down similar to attacks level.

With 100% spell crit chance on staves, they literally doubled from 13% to whopping 26%.

Whereas most weapon are ranging from 5~7%, with maximum of +5% from suffix.
That's is it, ~12% chance to crit.

Even the best martial weapon for crit, Sinister Quarterstaves, have 12% base, and a maxroll +5% is just 17%. 17% max roll with specific weapon and skills.

17% for a super specific weapon, vs 26% for all kind of staves, spells is kinda bs.

There is also the fact that "Cast on Crit" are for freaking spells, and work with spell crit to gain energy. This metagem should gain energy ONLY FROM ATTACKS. Cast on Elemental Ailment too.

Every f thing is for spell spell spell.

Spells also are very excellent item with HH, because, they freaking autocast tons of spells.

Where are auto-attack? attack-on crit?

ES is also so much better than life, armor or ev. Even Bloodmage Life stacking is from ES.

Why is everything is made for Spells and ES?

Nerf them down to abyss already.

Cast on crit gains energy on critical hits from both spells and attack.
You forgot that casters cannot use heralds.

Crit is definetely good but not absolutely necessary, can 1 tap bosses with 5% crit chance and clear screens with 1 shot too

Do you really not see the difference between the "+X% to Critical Hit Chance" mod and the "X% increased Critical Hit Chance for Spells" mod?
Crit mod on martial weapons is added to the base crit chance.
Crit mod on non-martial weapons is a global mod that stacks with other sources of crit chance increases.

I dunno if OP even playing this game. It sounds like bunch of nonsense to me

I literally wrote that here.

Best martial weapon QS have 12% base + 5% suffix = 17%.

13% base spell + 100% increased suffix is 26%.

Yes we do have other increase sourced from tree or equipment, but by how much?

POE2 severly lack source of crit from tree and equiments.

Even with multiple cluster nodes, multiple crit supports, it's still very hard to get crit with a freaking 17% base weapon.

Sure those global mods are stacks and diminishes, but tell me, where the f are they? How much crit cluster to invest and travel to just to reach spells crit level?

The only upside of attacks is Garukhan, which is not a real upside because how expensive it is.

Still, even if they introduce more sources of global chance,

Those cast-on-crit have got to go, or nerfed requiring attacks only.

I will never - ever understand the people who are always advocating for some nerf.

Crying cause of something in their eyes seems overpowered.

How about all the stuff that has little to no power at all? Don't you wanna start there first?

There is a lot of underwhelming items - uniques in this game, most of the uniques are literally trash and nobody uses them, maybe to level if the required level is low enough but that's it.

Most skills are trash too* because of the lack of damage or utility or both, or just very annoying to use.

Why don't people like you start with things like this, even GGG admitted that they need to start buffing stuff, when they had nerfed a lot of stuff in the past seasons.
Druid and new season hype - December 12th, 2025! Thanks GGG for putting in the work!
I'm sure you'll figure stuff out as you go and keep going.

i had no problem on reaching 100% crit chance with 9% base crossbow on a merc, whole forum is all about nerf this and nerf that, just stop it

On a merc? Alright smartass, let's see the POB how you capped your crit.

Even with almost full investment just crit is going to be very difficult.

Always buffing is bad because everything will become bloated, powercreep and make balancing very hard. Nerf is better because once things become balance, they can slowly scale all the number across the board.
