Give us back our portals
" No, you're both doing it wrong. You should be able to do everything right from the start without any effort or risk. |

I'm talking about the 6-portal system from POE 1 of course which is far better.
And my build can handle 6-mod maps just fine, but it doesn't change the fact that when you do die, even if rarely, it's extremely annoying to have to redo the same map without the tablets, unless you want to go the long way around which in some cases can be very long. Either fix this by how the new end-game is implemented or let us have 6 portals.

GGG went too far into the punishment direction while the game is unreasonably slow to gear and progress, unless trading.

" Bingo The players who enjoy 1 portal mapping think there's something special about being able to do 6-mod maps, and that we're in favour of taking their achievements away or something. No, it ain't hard to do 6 mod maps, the thing is, when that random death gets you, i guarantee it's the logout signal for the day. Anti-enjoyment gameplay, all while pretending it's a difficult game, when in reality it's balanced as a numerical skinner box; Last edited by GabrielCorso#5386 on Jan 18, 2026, 2:44:04 PM

" I think this is the big issue, the anti-enjoyment gameplay. Folks have this looming dread over their shoulder playing all the content. Literally zero chill gameplay. So when they do successfully complete 6-mod maps, as expected, there's no joy in. And the relief from finishing vanishes almost immediately as they go to load up the next map. Folks that enjoy this type of pressure probably totally enjoy HC ladder. Which is why it exists. |

" It used to be 1 attempt + 6 loot runs. Now it's 1-6 attempts and infinite loot runs. You sure you wanna go back to that? |

"Agreed Though I did 6 mods the entire way through. Mash the clean Last edited by Mashgesture#2912 on Jan 18, 2026, 4:03:54 PM

There's a bit of a disconnect between the community and the company.
They do not have the vision we have. From their stated goals and the direction of the game it is not something that aligns with players expectations or enjoyment. Players believe PoE should be challenging, engaging, rewarding, and entertaining. The company disagrees completely. The ideas they are pushing align with the least popular game mode from PoE1 which is Ruthless mode, a version of the game which does not respect a players time. Which is fine, for those who want that. But it should have remained an alternative game mode. |
