People are not dogpiling OP for having gotten banned, but critizing them for blaming Neversink of all people. His loot filter is the gold standard of PoE loot filters, used by a massive portion of the player base. Most of that criticism is coming from people defending Neversink and don't give a damn about what OP did or didn't do.

I have also chimed in and questioned OP about gaming on hotel wifi. No response. Whatever, not my battle. But the fact they never made clear in the opening post that they learned that Neversink is not to blame bugs me, and I am allowed to voice that.

But again you have to barge in and say all that.

If you hadn't played this game for a long time and all of a sudden picked it up and then got banned for 3rd party tools when you only use a loot filter wouldn't you question that too?

And no, I would not blame a text file on my account getting banned. But I guess someone who thinks a text file loot filter is a piece of software could come to that conclusion. However, they were informed that this isn't the case and chose not to correct the record which is just inadequate.

You can keep nitpicking if you want, but it changes nothing about OP clearly being in the wrong about pretty much everything.

Seems like a legit question and a warning that he feels is why he got banned and nothing more.

Again, we all know it's not the loot filter, there is literally zero chance that's the cause.

These loot filters do come from 3rd party sites tho, so I can understand why he thought it was the loot filter. Try looking at it from the perspective of someone that likely hasn't played poe since loot filters became a thing. Players tell you to go download it and you do and then you get banned. Seems like the logical conclusion for someone not in the know.

That's all well and good.....IF you stopped at reading only the title and maybe the first paragraph of the post.

It is clear the OP is genuinely upset about losing his account. I cannot nor would I ever deny the validity of that feeling. BUT if I were to lose my account, my gut reaction is not writing a soliloquy warning everyone else on a public forum general discussion about unsubstantiated "possible" bans, purchases, and a number of other issues that were conflated. The damage and confusion caused by such a post on naive newer players could be astounding.

I would contact GGG and attempt to rectify the situation, my OWN personal situation. That's it. Maybe write a help post if I am genuinely confused about what to do next.
