Best League Ever IMO
" The retention is pretty bad. That there are more palyers today tha yesterday is because its weekend. That means nothing. “The bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame.”

" Ah getting personal here? Cute. If people have nothing more to say, then they get personal. Typical. “The bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame.”

" +1 Would be absolutely a crazy take to try to suggest .1 or .2 were better game states than what we have now. Focusing on retention, when in all cases its hundreds of thousands of players. And then ignoring everything else is pretty funny as a take Mash the clean Last edited by Mashgesture#2912 on Jan 10, 2026, 5:51:45 PM

" Aw sorry, I 100% misunderstood what you wrote before. My mistake and my apologies. You were right about medical condition but compared to previous patches this one is the most stable for me so still the best league. Last edited by Sakanabi#6664 on Jan 10, 2026, 5:43:20 PM

" Your graph stops before the rebound at 100,000 Steam players. Most leagues don't have a bounce like that. The 0.4 numbers fell rapidly for the first two weeks, but then they improved and have been staying flat. 0.4 SSF: Gemling Minions: https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/DistributedAutomaton-5739/character/CrystalController
0.3 SSF: Evasion-only melee challenge character: https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/119e9 |

" It really depends. Game stability got worse this league. With Deadlock or AMD laoding issues and shit like that. The economy issues are insane. Movement speed changes this league made certain build styles just way better than others. You didnt have that issues this drastrically before. Campaign still the same slog. No improvements there. Reducing Pack size but keeping area size the same is an issue. Not as much as people make it sometimes. Build Diversity is okay i would say. Better than 0.2 and 0.3, but not better than 0.1. 0.1 had a really good build diversity. A lot of stat stacking tho, but other stuff was able to keep up with that. Right now at the top end you basically only have Temporalis Blink Choir. Its simply the fastest build in the game. Nothing comes even close to that speed. Which is an issue if you want to compete with others. Which is an issue if you play this game very actively. Depends a bit on your playstyle. Just some stuff that comes to mind rigt now. If i want i can find a lot more. Async Trade is probably the best thing that got to the game. But thta wasnt this League. My main issue is considering the time we had since 0.1 (1 year). We didnt make it far. For me i only see slight improvements in the categories that really matter for me. I expect the game to improve in many areas which it does not. Its better 0.2 i can say that, but i wouldnt say its better than 0.1 or 0.3 considering the developmet time they had since then. I dont like the waystone changes in 0.3 i dont like the tower change that you now have to sue tablets on each map instead on a tower. I would lieks to keep tablets on towers. And just say tehy cant generate overlapped. There are so many bugs in the game that dont get worked on. A bug gets reported a year ago and is still in the game and it breaks builds. Right now i discovered quiet a lot of bugs. Vertex Mask no skill gem requirement only works for already equipped gems and not when u want to equip one. If you have +1 level rune in both skill sets, then one wand does not work. Because its the same rune. Wolf Pack only works if you have enough spirit in both skill sets. U cant use it only in one skillset if only taht has enough spirit. It works wel with other spirit skills. “The bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame.” Last edited by Alzucard#2422 on Jan 10, 2026, 6:10:57 PM

89k players is still under 100k and you are forgetting 0.2 started off with 45k less players than 0.4 (245k players vs 290k). I said player retention not total players which means you take the initial player number and take away the current total to get your player drop. You can then work out percentages after with current number/starting number x 100.
My point still stands that the player count hasn't gone above 100k recently but I admit I did make a slight mistake, it was the 5th of January when the player count last exceeded 100k not the 6th. Just to settle the argument here's the maths: (0.2 launch) 245k - (May average) 75k ~ 170k/69.39% drop in players (0.4 launch) 290k - (7th Jan Peak) 91k ~ 199k/68.2% drop in players (0.4 launch) 290k - (8th Jan peak) 88k ~ 202k/69.66% drop in players (0.4 launch) 290k - (9th Jan peak) 94k ~ 196k/67.59% drop in players Until we get the full average for January it's not an apples to apples comparison because both the 0.2 April and May numbers are averages and only the 0.4 launch average is currently available so I used the last 3 full days. Also it seems daily numbers get erased after a few months so I annoyingly can't do a direct patch launch to exactly a month later comparison which would be the most accurate. Even with the weekend boost 0.4 is barely ahead in percentage and still has lost more total players than 0.2. I also didn't use today's figures either because we're still yet to hit peak players so it wouldn't be valid data. Last edited by Anal_Rek#2753 on Jan 10, 2026, 6:11:07 PM
