It is. SSF was designed by PLAYERS to be a SELF IMPOSED CHALLENGE. GGG later added it as an official option, respecting the fact that it was always intended to be a SELF IMPOSED CHALLENGE.
Just because you think it should be something else, doesn't mean it isn't properly balanced for what it was designed to be.
I mean sure that's a way to use semantics to obfuscate my point. The game does not drop loot. Make any excuses needed, it still sucks and mandates playing a sweaty fake day trader instead of just playing the game. SSF is our only option of AVOIDING the horrible pit fall designs of a game balanced on RMT. So SSF is even more useless if it's only meant to alleviate the burden of a game horribly balanced around trade... yet it is a challenge mode? And as I stated "IF it WAS balanced" that would be all we played. We are aware of it's pointless existence in it's current state.
Woah woah woah, did you just say the R word? Might get deleted by mod
Exploit early exploit often bozos.

Funny, I seemed to have dropped tons of loot... I mean, where do you think all the stuff people are selling comes from?

Considering that Omens of Annulment/Erasure go for 15-20 div a pop, Omen of Light for 12 divs, Ancient Jawbone and Collarbone for 20+ divs, Omen of Whitling for 10 divs, Fracturing Orb for 10 divs, distilled Isolation for 5+ divs, some catalysts for 60 exalts a piece, some essences for close to a divine, etc. it really doesn't look like there is "tons of loot" going around.

This is like that guy who brought a snowball into congress to disprove global warming. It's anecdotal at best, crazy silly dumb dumb logic at worst. Loot dropping is not the actual method of acquiring it 9 times out of 10. That has been the point from the onset, and to boot it's VERY much not fun for old a new gamers alike.

We really need to go back to teaching basic economics in school...
Those things are higher in cost right now because... people aren't producing them. Not because the "drops" aren't there, it's because everyone has FOMO and is running around doing the exact same temple strat. Temples drop lots of divines, they drop exactly ZERO omens, ZERO abyss currency, ZERO fracturing orbs, ZERO distilled emotions, ZERO catalysts and... wait for it... ZERO essences.
Supply of divines is high because the majority are running the same streamer provided temple strat that shits out tons of divines. Anything not produced by the temple goes up in value due to it. Smart people see what streamers are doing and DO THE OPPOSITE. Figure out what doesn't come from the mechanic that the lemmings are all going to flock to, and go farm that.

Unfortunately, that's because the state of crafting is pretty bad again. Whenever crafting is too RNG and inaccessible, the crafting materials soar in price, and only the mega rich players can afford to craft, which leads to a loop where they continue to make tons of profit while crafting and the non-rich players don't craft at all because it's unaffordable. It's one of the many "rich get richer" problems the game has.
It was much less of a problem in 0.3, because crafting was actually good and accessible. But they didn't like that, apparently.

Not really true. Omens of Whittling were extremely expensive in 0.2 too. It's always like this when crafting is too RNG and inaccessible. 0.3 was the only time where POE 2 has broken out of this problem. But it returned again in 0.4. But, yes, the temple is also exacerbating the problem.

I remember randomly chancing into an astramentis (the good one before it was gutted, still have in a case with spaghetti and all).
Finding loot and playing the game NEED to be core. And it's not
You are contradicting yourself.
you had a good moment because you won the lottery.
Time to wake uo.

The truth is you need to look for drops with usable mods and then use currency to upgrade them into desirable form (risking you brick that item in the process). That's why I'm doing in SSF and it works like charm so far (lvl 90).

Stat stacking was a very interesting build idea that worked well for many classes. They absolutely gutted it into the ground and with it the only ascendency class that takes advantage of it. At the time it was basically the only farmable gear on pinnacles as well.
