In POE1 I routinely play several chars. I guess I am a little ADD about that. I will never do it in POE2 because of one reason.
I have 18h 35m into this league and I am not even out of act 4 yet. (Cue the three flamers saying "skill issue" but who cares?) Each act is as long as all the acts before it. I got out of act 1 in about 1.25h then act 2 in 2.5 to 3 then act 3 in about 6h. Its just way long. There is no way I am going to do that for more than one char. In fact in the last 2 leagues I didnt even get to maps. I would guess if you did a DB query and found how many dropped out before maps you would get an idea of what i am talking about. I am not sure I will make it to maps this time. The campaign isnt engaging, its just tedious. Pack after pack after pack of whites. on one island i think I killed 1000 mobs tediously. The maps are designed to be labyrinths so you never know where to go so you basically end up full clearing every zone.
Tedious. Boring. Look at the stats and you will see.
You standing on a lost position here... cause campaign is at this moment the best part about the game. They just need to adjust it a bit more and also make bosses harder, while giving people better possibilities to work on their gear and character power.
Bosses were never really hard if you just had the possibility to prepare yourself for the fights, which is the main problem at this time. Some are lucky, some farm areas multiple times or just play meta or unbalanced skills to make it even more trivial.
People which don't rely on OP mechanics will struggle if they are not lucky.

campaign is at this moment the best part about the game.
Which says more about the endgame than the campaign. Because the campaign is tedious and way too long for a seasonal game.
And anyone saying the campaign length is even remotely similar to PoE1 is just delusional.

The campaign lenght is the same as poe1, but in poe1 ppl are already trained to do it fast. In a few leagues ppl will be doing as fast as poe1 one. Its a skill issue, you cant compare your skill with a new game versus a game you have been playing for a decade.
Twinks also cuts campaign time in half.

Dude, the game is a year old and it's been 4 leagues already. We've all finished the campaign multiple times. I know most of the layouts alright, and i know them better than i remember PoE1 layouts (which didn't stop me from blasting through poe1 campaign after a few years break). You can't just say "it's a skill issue" when Matlan Waterways exist.

You can do it fast in PoE1 because of movement skills. The forced "slow meaningful combat" vision hinders more than just the feel of combat. It makes everything sluggish.

Well, its a different game that requires different skills to blast it. In poe1 you just need to know the layout, get a travel skill, and leap slam/shield dash/frost blink until it ends. Boring too.
In poe2 you need more skills than that. Using good campaign builds, using merchants all the time, respec for specific bosses, etc. If i try hard it i can do it in just a few hours. Streamers where doing the same on druid ( wich they never played). Its harder than poe1 campaign ( also way more fun and engaging), but yeah, you can blast it if you know what you are doing.
But it aint like poe1 where you choose whatever build and just dash trought it while you hear backstreet Boys.

100% Agreement.
I probably wont make it to end game again. I would guess I am by far not in the minority. GGG should be able to post the numbers. I doubt they will though.

they have to add at least trail where to go to complete main quest. tired to explore walls like labyrinth. thats will speed up a lot.

You don't need to "respec for specific bosses". Neither you need to "use merchants all the time". Aside from a couple encounters, the campaign is very easy. I died twice this league in HCSSF campaign, one was my mistake and another was a hardware issue (basically a key got stuck).
It's just STUPID LONG with HUGE AREAS, no movement skills worth mentioning, and lots of RP walk sequences on top of everything.
