Jonathan, you should seriously consider introducing distinct difficulty modes

The game already has difficulty modes. What do you think map tiers and pinnacle boss tiers are?
i asked for ruthless after they over-buffed drops and players on release and the response from GGG was something along the lines of wanting to do better with balancing such that they dont need a ruthless mode.

Yeah. I mean, the Op is right: the game is too easy. But there are so many weapons, skills, and crafting mechanisms not in the game yet, you can't expect balance for a while. What's GGG supposed to do? Bring back 0.2 difficulty and see malding online for weeks?

I've already been making it harder on myself. I only take one inventory bag out of the temple (if I leave I can't go back in). In 0.3, I didn't allow myself to wear armor or energy shield. I think self-imposed difficulty like that is the best you can do until GGG finishes the base game.

I like it too, but the problem is that this is a slippery slope we saw for over half a decade of poe1.

And then they will balance visual clarity and monsters around crackhead speed/power of players... ATP it's just torchlight infinite.
ggg already introduced distinct difficulty modes. It called builds (or classes).
+1 for difficulty mode.

although i think it wouldnt fix +x second to cast/and attack time and big maps
You set the difficulty yourself in this game and if you want to make it harder for you, don't play meta builds.

Or add fortify to fix the major hit pool gap between Melee and Spellcasters
Fortify nodes on left, ES on the Right, EZPZ
