Appeal regarding Account Suspension - [MartinChan#6081] - Potential Technical Misunderstanding
|
Dear GGG Support Team,
I am writing to sincerely appeal the permanent suspension of my another account [MartinChan#6081] . After reflecting on my recent activity, I believe my account may have been flagged due to a technical misunderstanding involving a browser extension. I have been using a plugin called "Immersive Translate" to help me read the official website and the trade site. I now realize that this extension functions by modifying web page content and making frequent requests for translation, which likely triggered your automated anti-bot or anti-scraper systems. I would like to clarify the following: I have never used any third-party software, macros, or scripts to gain an unfair advantage in the game. My use of the plugin was strictly limited to translating text on the official website for better understanding. I have already disabled and uninstalled this plugin to ensure this never happens again. That account means a lot to me, and I have always tried to be a responsible member of the community. I kindly ask for a manual review of my case, or downgrade the punishment for not Permanent Suspension, as I am a legitimate player who was simply trying to overcome a language barrier. I apologize for any system disruption this may have caused and hope for a chance to return to the game. Thank you for your time and consideration. " In order to appeal a ban that has been placed on your account, you will need to log into that account on the Path of Exile website and go to your account profile. On that page there will be an option to appeal your ban, in the sidebar on the right side of the page. If you have not done so already, please submit your ban appeal on the website and it will be reviewed by a senior member of staff as soon as possible. Once an appeal has been processed, it is not possible to appeal a second time, and we are not able to process any ban appeals made via our Support team. Need help with something? Feel free to email us: support@grindinggear.com

Thanks for reply.
I've done that, but at that time the clarification is not made clear, fot at that time I didn't found the problem is due to the translation add-on. So I have to register another account to clarify the reasion. That account means a lot to me, and since it's a technical misunderstanding, so I sincerely appeal to another review. Thanks a lot, looking forward to your humanized and warm support cause I can do nothing else. |

" This browser extension performs the translations itself, rather than seeking to request alternative languages from GGG's site. It doesn't in any way modify how your web browser interacts with GGG's web server, and GGG would not know (or care) that you use it. The extension is not why action was taken against your account. Having spent thousands of euros on Path of Exile over the years, I will not be further supporting it financially until and unless GGG resumes offering Technical Support.

Here is what the Gemini/AI said,
Technical Explanation for the False Detection Why "Immersive Translate" might have triggered the ban: Frequent API Requests: While translating web content in real-time, "Immersive Translate" frequently calls translation interfaces (such as Google, DeepL, or OpenAI). From the perspective of GGG's official website, your browser is generating data requests at a "non-human" speed in the background, which can be mistakenly flagged as a bot or scraper. DOM Structure Modification: The extension modifies the webpage's HTML structure in real-time (by inserting translations below the original text). GGG's security monitoring scripts may interpret this as an attempt to tamper with webpage functionality or perform automated trading. IP Association Risks: If the extension is configured with specific API nodes or if translation requests pass through certain public servers, your access patterns might overlap with those of known gold-farming or item-farming bots. I strongly believed the translation add-on should not accure to any bleaching action so I used the add-on, also that's the reason why I said it's an fause suspention, cause I don't know the exact action carried by the add-on. Anyway I uninstalled it and ask for help from the support team. I meant no harm to the game and I suppose the technical problem or any other reason shouldn't lead to a PERMANERT SUSPENSION? |

The suspention message had a timestamp, and the time is just around the time when I download and used the translation add-on named Immersive Translation.
Besides that add-on, no more add-ons or support softwares I used in the game or website, not even the OverWolf or anything else. Last edited by martinchan#2986 on Dec 31, 2025, 10:04:01 PM

The Artificial Idiot has no clue what the word salad it's spewing means. Your installing a translation tool in your browser around the same time as your ban was purely a coincidence.
You were flagged either for something that modified the running game, or something you did while in game. Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? |

" I can't wait for the day this broken detection system hits you next for something completely random. It’ll be poetic justice to see you become the very 'Artificial Idiot' you’re mocking right now." |

Here is what the system/so-called detection/bot used to send to me and my corresponding response for each item:
According to Section 7 of our Terms of Use, under no circumstances, without the prior written approval of Grinding Gear Games, may you: - Adapt, reproduce, store, distribute, print, display, publish or create derivative works from any part of the Website, Materials or Services other than in accordance with the Licence. // I Never did, nor did I have the ability. - Modify or adapt (including through third parties and third-party tools) the game client or its data, other than in the normal course of PoE gameplay as permitted in accordance with the Licence. // I Never did, nor did I have the ability. - Utilise any automated software or ‘bots’ in relation to your access or use of the Website, Materials or Services. //Translation website plug-in, I admitted it. But I treat it as far from permanettly being banned. - Knowingly perform any actions that may cause the computers used to support the Website, Materials and Services (the “Servers”) to become overloaded or crash. // I Never did, nor did I have the ability. It's even out of my knowledge and willingness. - Connect to the Servers through any software other than the authorised game client software. // EachTime I logged in through a PS5 or PC independent client, most of the time with the vpn because I can't play it in mainland China, but I want to play with players from bigger worlds. Is that a problem? - Use any data gathering and extraction tools or software to extract information from the Website or utilize framing techniques to enclose any of the contents of the Website. // I Never did, nor did I have the ability. It's even out of my knowledge and willingness. - Use any meta tags or other hidden text which incorporate Grinding Gear Games’ name or any of its intellectual property including trade marks. // I Never did, nor did I have the ability. It's even out of my knowledge and willingness. - Perform in-game services during your use of the Website, Materials or Services for any form of compensation outside of PoE. // Recently I just received a gift from friends who got streaming twitch drops. If that's a problem I suppose it's far from being penmanently banned, right? The situation is, even if I checked all my recent actions or your possible breaching items, I've no idea what's going wrong. I just hope to get the account back or get banned for a period of time for a possible reason which I've no idea. |

" And you are not supposed to. Your whole post reads like someone that is trying to bamboozle support into giving you the account back. Thing is that when they action something like this and further enforce the ban after appeal, they are sure that you were doing something that broke their ToS. Their vagueness when defining the infraction isn't a case of support being clueless and just going with what their detection software tells them, it is there to stop bad actors from knowing what thing they did to get caught and working their way around it.
