Statement from the creator of "its time to ban streamers using exploits"
|
Its impossible to prevent bug and non intended interactions in a game like this. Of course they need to optmize it to reduce the chance of something like this happening again
Still, we do need a more clear rule about what is allowed and what is not allowed. Grey areas are grey areas, you cant be punished by gettin money from a bug that you do not see. Example : breach monsters havin 10x more quantity of items dropped than what they should have. The holten thing wasnt Hidden. Ppl knew what they are doing. And they knew this was a dev mistake. So, whats ggg definition? Go on and exploit anything you find, we wont charge the player? Or, watch out, if you are caught doing something that is clearly wrong you will get punished. I prefer the second, but at least we need a definition. |

i don't want any player to punish for exploit. if someone use hack, third party application etc. to gain advantage, this players could be ban or punish. ggg had couldn't managed this issue or they managed but pretty badly.
1)they could fix the exploit on the same day. they couldn't. 2)they can do an announcement, we're working on issue, please don't use exploit, until we fix it. they keep silent almost five days. 3)if they couldn't fix it quickly, because holiday etc., they could be disable league mechanic for everybody temporarily. after fix it, enable again, everybody continue to play their temple. so there was too much thing they could do. i think, ggg needs to punish themselves. |

" LOL. Of course problem is not GGG making a mistake and derailing economy (economy that will later be dumped to Standard on top of previous derailed economies, anyone remembers Standard players exist?). No, problem seems to be people expressing their discontent with GGG mistake, should be put on probation immediately... As for "explaining how to do an exploit" this one is even better. A streamer had already explained it in detail, was he put on probation?:) Edit: if OP cited literally, does it mean GGG staff called the situation "exploit" exactly? " Clear to you. There's hundreds of live service games that have trade economies that don't have persistent exploits. Exploits generally appear with the introduction of new leagues, as the new mechanics are what's being exploited. There's been dozens of PoE leagues that did not have exploits. It's not some far off idea or demand. This notion that not punishing is some slippery slope is just a costume for swift, misguided retribution and a lack of good-boy tokens for not running the strat. You want a solution? A better flagging system need to be in place triggered at abnormal market surges, same with accounts (Which should be done for RMT anyway). GGG shouldn't be finding out about these exploits when Fubgun drops a Youtube video, as the exploit was almost certainly being done days before that information went public in smaller circles. There should be single button market freezes when something that has the potential to proliferate like this is detected. It's 1000x better to temporarily stop transactions than it is to reverse player progress through rollbacks, which is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. |

Just let it go at this point and vote with your wallet.

Its not that complicated.
Its just a race to the bottom every time. Streamers almost never find this stuff. They jump on the bandwagon as it begins to gain traction because if they dont, then like anyone else who doesnt, they go broke while getting outpaced in the economy. GGG never does anything about it, no currency deletion, no rollbacks, nothing... Thats why the joke is to exploit early and often, not because people like this kind of thing but because they fall behind in the economy if they dont. Like when they released 16.5 maps in the rose petal league and they were juicier than T17's... You either did that strat and kept up, or sat on a moral high horse and went broke. And I cant fathom how holton was an "exploit". Everything that was being abused was coded into the game that way. I get they intend us to RP walk through maps with 10 monsters and get 1 ex per map and do a full 6 maps for the chance to get one or two more tiles in temple and for us to play the league for 12 weeks straight just to get a halfway decent temple after 3000 maps, but thats not how people play ARPG's and its not what people enjoy. Wait, so they put you on probation just for creating the thread!!! While others do worse and fuck all happens to them. That's a scumbag move right there.
They didn't want the grief from everyone else complaining and becoming wise to it so they blame you. Sucks ass man. Perhaps they need to look in the mirror as it was and is, their job to test this shit, and if something is broken, they are responsible. |

" I dont know man, every online game has expansions or updates. World of warcraft had a lot of exploits, and ppl got banned for using them, or had itens removed/ gold erased. Its not an unusual thing. Last edited by zepberonha#9748 on Jan 1, 2026, 9:55:27 AM

" Wait this confirms that GGG sees it as an exploit. That basically settles that debate. “The bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame.”

" Makes it even more hilarious and sad, that this should be EARLY ACCESS, we should be finding, testing and reporting these things in these very forums! Like what the hell is GGG doing here really? Or is this game even managed by GGG still, or is it Tencent? |
