meaninful combat where? Is it possible to defeat an arbiter without equipping any items?

The build require skill like the guy in the video really did well play against the boss. Like any nerf would make the character unplayable tbh . Right now not many players can pull the same skill level of this guy in the video but sooner or later they will and then it will become a balance issue.

Perhaps a light nerf to ice wall damage on shatter will be enough to put all builds that uses this skill in a good position.

What's comical to me is that the reason the skill combination he's using is so broken is basically... the same old thing since the beginnings of PoE1 which is happening again and again and again...

Overlapping of explosions ("shockwaves") which all can hit the same enemy...

It's just sad at this point...

Oh man. I've posted many times in different forums about AoE layering and so many developers still fall into that trap. AoE layering and %Damage like 20% enemy's health are incredibly dangerous.

Every mod or game design I've worked on I remove those interactions. The funniest part is it's not that hard. I have an effect that's very similar to the multiple explosions in question and I prevent the same source from taking damage multiple times by using simple tick rate flag operations.

Put simply ((TargetUUID hit by handle(64bit) and skillName(String) by SourceUUID)) can no longer take damage from that exact source for skill duration in tick rate.

The whole purpose of that interaction is to increase the coverage not the damage.

The %Damage thing might be more my own philosophies. I don't like designs that circumvent the damage system of a game. Especially when they can in theory scale forever.

The meaningful combat is one and the guy played with this. The problem is the insane damage with no gear. Guess what will happen if he is fully armed!? I give him 3 sec to beat him and it's too much....

That's exactly what I'm trying to say. Imagine an ice wall dealing this damage without taking flat damage from jewelry and equipment, and then imagine it's equipped... man, this damage is really messed up...
Currently, the skill is barely played. If it is as OP as you say there should be way more people abusing it.
