The numbers are plummeting as predicted.

My question is why is path of exile 2's daily peak at 11:00 AM pacific, That'd be prime gaming time in CET

Because that is the time most time zones collide. It's 2pm eastern, so east coast is up and coming off 1st shift/school, central is up but still at work/school and west coast is starting to get up and 2nd shift workers have not left yet. Not only that, it's the evening time where most people in europe are also staying up late playing. If you go further in time, europe goes to sleep and west coast goes to work. Also if you go too late, east coast starts go to sleep and europe is not awake yet... making west and central the only 2 active... with central going to sleep shortly after.

So much of developers time take only to have barely better numbers than poe 1. We are down to 130 000 players on steam 5 days after release.

What was the point of poe 2?

That's because steam only reports on people using steam... where most players use the dedicated client or you know the consoles. You're only looking at like a fraction of the whole pie and making assumptions.

Oh and also the free weekend is over, of course the numbers will go down...

Yeah fraction meaning 80% of players. Basically very good showing of the overall trend.
Lets talk what stretch goals for players in the league, I know the free weekend gives you stuff for completing chapter 1. After that it just seems to be a continual grind for crafting currency in order to craft gear so you can maybe kill a pinnacle boss or two.

I don't think steam actually accounts for 80% of players.

You really think steam has 80% of the player base when you combine both consoles and their own client? Do you have anything other than your "feelings" to back this up or are you fighting a self defeating battle?

Oh realy? Do you know Poe1 has it's own client? So the comparison of the downfall is still valid
The majority of F2P players noped the fugg out for a variety of reasons. Gotta love the initial reviews - OMG A NEW CLASS THAT CAN TURN INTO A DRAGON......and then the reality hit
no.
the major reason the numbers dipped is free weekend is over.
the secondary reason is their refusal to fix league critical bugs in a timely manner
The league is objectively boring, it's essentially the previous league with a new class, the Vaal temple is not worth the time spent, they don't learn from their mistakes at all, there were so many messages in poe 1 asking them to make the temple more enjoyable and not so drawn out, they don't care.
