Poe 2 makes me appreciate the genius of Chris Wilson
" the ignorance in thinking botting wasn't a thing before async. ill take that over messaging 8 doorknobs before getting a reply. price fixing/baiting is also essentially gone now. my time buying and selling is 10x nicer. go play ssf. nobody will miss you. " im already gone, playing on hc now, the only sacred place that alive, i understand that lower lifeforms at the bottom of food chain dont affected by negative part of async trade at the same amount it affected me. |

" i dont think you are in the physical or philosophical position to be speaking about lower forms of life blyat. |

" Their issue is (to me) they are stuck in a rut design wise because they have PoE1 hanging over them constantly, you see this constantly with developers that work on the same game for a long period of time they lose ability to view things differently or with fresh eyes and everything becomes tinted by what they made before. That isn't really a criticism as its also a great strength to be able to iterate on good ideas you had in the past but it does mean you also get baited into ideas that are straight bad. Endgame maps in PoE2 for example shouldn't look anything like PoE1s yet they do, screens are awash with enemies, the enemies are fast they dogpile you and the pacing is totally off because numerically its setup to be PoE1. So they keep having balance issues because it doesn't fit the pacing they establish earlier. 99% of encounters in high tier maps are kill this pack instantly or die there isn't any room for nuance - luckily there are sufficient ways to build a character into a pseudo poe1 one where you can one button screen clear but they need to get their design straight if they want to stop having major issues flare up with it every league. |

" It will be the slowest, the hardest and the grindy arpg you could ever imagine .) |

The reasons why you like PoE1 right now are the reasons why Chris left, his vision of an ARPG is pretty much the one from PoE1 beta or something like Ruthless mode, no zooming and other nonsense allowed, Most of you would hate that game because it would be too slow and difficult.

" It completely destroyed the economy and game balance so yeah our dear bro Chris was completely correct about this one. |
|
" nah async trade is great. insta buying and selling things without whispers is major step up from what we had. |
|
" there is no genius people in GGG. Game literally is targeting leech money by microtrasactions trough special limits in the game: Trade, small stash, maniac difficulty |
|
" It would be a major step if there were other hurdles to trade implemented. The gold cost is laughable. It completely removed ANY difficulty in gearing a character during the campaign and early to mid endgame, and made it significantly easier in the late game. The game already had a massive problem with loot not mattering much and much more effective use of *crafting* currency being just to buy what you want instead of crafting, and async trade made it 10 times worse. It may be good for qol but terrible for gameplay. My only hope is that enough people will see it and move to SSF so that GGG may start actually balancing around it. Async trade finally killed trade leagues for me. Worst thing is that they brought this crap to poe1 as well. Chris was right. Everything said in the trade manifesto turned out to be true.
