Previewed Druid skills seem underpowered? help

everything looks weak in the previews. always has.

its not a build showcase, its "have a look at the basics of the class"

the op wasnt talking about the showcase, he was talking about the skills mathematical multipliers.

Why dont you just all wait and try them first? It's amazing to see so much reaction already to something we know very little about =)

This is the feedback people are giving based on the information we're given.

It is likely they don't disclose all information before and they leave it open so they don't have to "nerf" things they released. They can give "old information" and say its being updated. Then wait to see the communities perspective and balance it based on what people think about it without having to hear people say that they nerfed it.

The community feedback forum gives you the opportunity to give your feedback, negative or positive. Everyone has a different perspective.

I truly hope they have other way to know how to balance the game than this forum =)

well then. fuck me.
shoulda read past the first sentence lol.
it happens.
all good with the misread, either way I hope theres other skills for each form that will be main spammables. Each form has its own fans which people will want to solely play as
just saw the gameplay reveal. There is indeed FORCED hybrid play. Whether that is spell caster shapershifter or multiple shapeshifter forms.

Yeah you cant just play werewolf and theres only one additional skill they didnt show, arctic howl, probably not a spammable ability. So only about 5 werewolf skils all of which are weak.

I will be severely gimped if I try to force a werewolf only build. just as my math came out it will be one third the damage to half damage of a ice strike monk.

totally not cool.

and while I am not upset by the elemental damage linked to the shapeshifted forms a good amount of people are also upset. Essentially theres no physcial attack variations of these forms.

It looks like they spread themselves thin trying to cram abilities into the talisman. Talisman in general should have just been for nature spellcasting. Then they should have locked shapeshifting and its skills behind a shapeshifter focused ascendancy.

Pretty much this.

Mash the clean
I do not care for the bear or the dragon or the nature magic. Everyone likes different things. Some people will only want to play bear, or dragon, or have nature magic.

If you only want to play one form then being able to pick which form to play with should be a thing
a style of play should not be forced.

and yeah ill try to make it work anyways but ill be at a severe disadvantage and thats not cool

as it looks right now. The werewolf will simply have one third the dps of the basic invoker monk with heavy investment might be able to get up to half the dps of an out the gate invoker monk

I don't read it that way. Keep Lunar Blessing up most of the time and you'll have similar damage and better freeze buildup. The monk's big advantage is gap-close (melee strike range) and the wolf gets wolf pack minions instead.

You're right about pure Lunar Assault vs. Ice Strike, but you won't be using Lunar Assault on its own. Think of unbuffed Lunar Assault as analogous to Wave of Frost, not Ice Strike. It's crowd control before the real damage.

PS: keeping Lunar Blessing up made me think a wolf chronomancer might be strong, bc the cooldown will matter.
Evasion-only melee character that can kill Ubers with cheap gear (SSF Rise of the Abyssal), no armor, no energy shield, 62k eHP:
