Not much I can really add to this other then the fact that it's some of the things I've been providing feedback on as well for over a year now! So I hope GGG takes a good listen to this. Especially that apparently some of the things they mention there were mentioned by the devs too. One of the most important things was them pointing out that rare monsters and monsters in general were supposed to have more identity and not just be defined by the rare mods they have. This is exactly something I've been talking about in the past as well in this thread over here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3865883 If anyone finds the video where Jonathan was asked about rare monsters and he said they would have an extra attack and such, it would be really awesome as well. I'm genuinely excited for the future of the game now whereas at the end of the last patch I felt like I had lost all hope for it. There needs to be more productive feedback like that moving forward to help them make the game really awesome! Yeah man, I watched that interview too. I was bringing up in chat "talk about the monster density changes" lol.
They had an excellent discussion about the game direction, I was pleased. Strangely enough, Fubgun and Rue both like the density changes. Ghazzy and Ziz are like "meh.. we'll wait and see." Not sure what I expected, but not that. Also hello again. =) |

• Can I make my SRS minions to cause bleed? Not really? Won't work in endgame.
• Can I explode myself with Elemental Sundering? No? Won't work. • Can I pin anything with chaos damage? No? • Can I teach a spell to my spectres and make them cast it? No? • Can I even get a simple UI to summon my spectres from? No? • Can I ignite a monster to make them faster or "enraged"? No? • Can I craft a map with any positive modifiers other than rarity etc? No? • Can I kick remnants to damage enemies? For example, purple ones deal chaos damage, red ones fire, blue ones lightning, etc.? No? • Can I ride anything other than Rhoas? Bears? Wyverns? No? • You can use spells with all weapons but you can't slam with a spear? Why? Is it has durability? Is it going to break if I use Boneshatter or Rolling Slam with a spear? What are you balancing at this point? Didn't you learn anything from PoE1? You can add billions of other things to this list and players will argue all day long like "no this is against the spirit of arpg" or "no I don't like this and that" but the real problem is this product is not what old players expected in 2025. It's like watching electric car commercials over and over again while waiting for flying cars. This is because they have no real competitors in the industry. D4? Bad. Last Epoch? There is no way. They are all alone at the top, like boomer CEOs who use the old methods over and over again and still win because there is no real alternative. It's like we're back on June 27, 2001. LoD comes out and people argue about a lot of things, but everyone knows it's just "D2.v2". Neden yaşıyorsun? Last edited by Jideament#2792 on Dec 8, 2025, 5:45:02 AM

Yep.
It feels like they are updating player to work in the Vision-environment, but real environment is just pasted from poe1. That creates a dissonance in receiving of how game should work. And that makes the community so damn split. If monsters and overall environment would be closer to the vision and not poe1, the players would get the direction easier and wouldn't be so polarized. Those who try to make poe1 out of poe2 are just confused by that. They got an impression that poe2 is poe1, so they spam with feedback around that. Rework the environment, so characters would feel more like they belong there. Last edited by Evergrey#7535 on Dec 8, 2025, 5:33:11 AM

Only thing that worry me is that reducing monster density and "only" adding 40% more life wont really be it.
On my waystone as the game is right now +40% monster life is pretty much a "free" modifier that dont make much difference, and i never play META build or anything. So i'm afraid maps will just be way too easy now without the swarm effect. Would have rather see them improving monster defenses or something. Make them tanky. Also i like being swarmed cause it's scarry, even on poor builds. Like rituals are my favorite mechanic in term of gameplay cause i have to hold on my chair for 1 or 2 minutes =) Hopefully 0.5 will add options that please everyone on the atlas tree. Hope they dont forget a keystone that make monsters both swarmy and tought =) SSF player

Well, based on what Mark said in the ZiggyD interview about what he wants to do with the atlas, I think that ultimately they are going in the direction of allowing people to tailor our experience to what we want, which is something I've been advocating for for a while now.
Ultimately there's a bit of a divide in the community where people have preferences to either zoom more or engage with monsters more, and the best solution would be the ability to choose what kind of experience you want. Personally, my preference would really be to take it even further than what either Tri or NS are saying here; I'd love to have a combat experience in an arpg where every fight feels like I gotta pay attention. I'm sure there are other people who would feel that way, but I'm also sure that it's not everyone's preference, any more than it's everyone's preference to go brrr all through the map... if they offer choices though, I think that would be the best possible version of PoE 2. |

" Heya! :) I'm not super familiar with Fubgun and Rue's takes so I can't say much about that other then I'm glad they're not against it, as for Zizaran.. it was around what I expected to be honest. Looking forward to see what more interviews with Jonathan might uncover until league launch. " I'm not entirely sure but I believe that new stat "Monster effectiveness" will also play a part in it. That being said, I do think player power is probably still way too high and it might actually prove to be of little consequence. We'll have to test to find out. But even if it turns out to be the case, it is still a good step in the right direction and that's the best I could've asked for right now, personally. " I would be quite happy with that outcome and especially with your suggestion at the end there too! There is a small "but" though that I hope they are thinking about when it comes to this. The idea that we could adjust our experience through the atlas tree in that way suggests that loot drops would still be similar between the two styles... and that in itself might present a big balance challenge, especially when a shared market is involved. Aside from that, there is also the fact that somehow, up to endgame, the game should please both sides still... and I think that's not really possible. For example, right now campaign progression is significantly easier compared to 0.1 (specifically the first act)... which felt like the best experience I've had in PoE2. But because people have complained about it being too hard... they've made it easier. At the same time, most zoom zoom enjoyers hate the campaign even in this much easier mode state it finds itself in right now. A bit of a lose-lose situation if you ask me. With all that in mind, I would rather like to propose different game modes that separate them entirely from the start so they can fully embrace their core ideas, if I can say so. Your typical, but efficient, difficulty scaling.. if you will. Another thing I need to mention is that, if they choose to give both options, regardless of how they do it... they have to really keep in mind that more methodical involved combat requires quite a bit more effort in monster design as compared to zoom zoom which cares much less about individual monster design. So the priority order should be as such. For example, if they decide to make a new monster, they need to add all kinds of abilities to it, make it more complex as a rare, more like a mini-boss, etc... and in the zoom zoom variant they most likely just have to remove some abilities and adjust HP pools and such. " Yeah we need to test how it feel, player power is def very high and prob still will be but i guess it need time for them to adjust both player power and monster toughness. Still very excited for friday in any case. Game is amazing =) SSF player
