PS: I just checked, and in the current tree, it's only 16 nodes from Warrior start to Avatar of Fire. One Pathfinder "theorycraft" without seeing the new tree is: fire skills, take Avatar of Fire, use the 15 nodes to Avatar of Fire to pump damage (5% each), then 75% of damage you take is fire, which you can shrug off from high evasion DR. Spend the rest of the nodes in the Dex area.
Evasion-only melee character that can kill Ubers with cheap gear (SSF Rise of the Abyssal), no armor, no energy shield, 62k eHP:

BTW Practical Remedies has been Removed IN 0.4.

Slot a freeze charm to get the same effect. It's being replaced with the ability to path from Warrior, which will allow for armor stacking, and if you can reach Avatar of Fire and combine it with elemental DR from evasion, that would be super tanky.

I think you have a magic find fetish. Jonathan said in the interview that the plan is to remove rarity from gear, but they're still working on how to do it.

If you stop caring about magic find, a lot more builds will open up for you.

If you get your Blind effect over 200%, you will be tanky. Blind buffs deflection too.

I get the feeling op doesn't want to learn the game and would rather kick the goalposts around in forum soccer, bc he's already overspec'd into blind, tanking and deflecting all reason.

Sounds neat though, will definitely consider it for my parry ritualist in 0.4.

re:mf, you can trivially craft double rarity rings on any desired base for ~1/3d if not cheaper. That's ~88% from 2 rings, with boots/helm/gloves open for further affixes as necessary. iirc softcap at 150%

The base evasion on that ssf pf gear can also be greatly be improved via trade. 2500+ is cheap, 2800+ ~10d for chest. gloves/boots/hat can be doubled and still be cheap enough to bulk corrupt for the extra socket.

But regardless, we haven't seen the new passive tree, so neither of us has any idea what's the truth.

I saw a summary video by Raxx yesterday. In it, he showed a list of feature requests he and his community had put together. GGG implemented almost every single one in 0.4.

I did the exact same exercise but with an armor stacker.

I had 100k armour, 500k armour to elemental damage, and 2700 HP. I was getting one-shot by pinnacle bosses constantly.

I pushed it up to 4100 life- night and day difference. BUT to get there I had to spend hundreds of divines because items like that simply don’t exist on trade. Life shares the same prefix pool with armour and it can break the craft because of the extra tag...

…and now we get to the important part. Removing homo ex omen won’t let me make such a character a second time, because it will be impossible to craft, for example, such a hybrid shield without spending Whittlings, where one click costs 10 div (and even then that shield cost me around 300 div to craft because I got lucky).

It’s absurd how little life the left side of the tree has.

I believe you. It sounds as though the left side of the tree got a lot of attention, so maybe things will be better.

The solutions that the posters offerd with exampels how they felt about them and how it had worked/is working for them with whats current available to us to work with:

Isnt of interest, They are wrong, It dosent help, You cant have MF and still be viable outside of ES, They are talking nonsens.





Do you feel like ES builds are the only viable options cause MF gear isnt possible to get on the rest of the builds & be able to survive?


And if MF primarily isnt the big issue for you, what are the main points at the end of it that makes you feel ES is the onyl way to go? or is it just the lack of life related nodes?


After reading it all i just got the image of well, alot of frustration and shoot at everything you can think of currently.

Just trying to understand what the main problem is here.

With blind, I was over 80% evasion by level 50.

Re: life: my character is currently at 2550 at level 90. And that's in SSF. If you're in trade, you can get it higher with Soul Cores of Jiquani. Weakest at taking a physical hit, can take about 3000 because of damage conversion. But you know what? If you dodge roll, you take no damage. Thematically, a dex-based character survives by getting out of the way of hits.

ES is getting nerfed by 0.5, according to Mark. And even if it wasn't, your friends playstyle sounds boring to me. Stand there and do nothing? Why even log in?
