Dead from a single unpredictable hit... End game. Not all of us are hardcore players.

Okey takes this from a hardcore ssf player: Monkey is not fair. Don't be fair to monkey. I skip act 3 monkey and go back with like lvl 60+ and one shot it. in terms of mapping / late game monkey? I DO NOT PLAY THOSE MAPS. and you don't need to either. just remember on which maps monkey can spawn and skip em. easy as that. no one is forcing you to play vs monkey.

Your statement represents the most obvious and logical decision a player can take.

Yet the most common outcome is that the player would go into those maps, get one shotted to oblivion and then complain on the forum.

It is one of the main problems that GGG is facing when designing their game. Because they need to make it challenging to you and others like you, and still playable by the other type of players.

Anyway, I think that your words are wasted.

The solution is simple and straightforward. And most people who play this game are smart enough to be aware of its existence.

They are not incompetent, just impatient.

Their expectation and pride does not allow them to skip content.
Thus - the outcome we see here.

I wish you the best.

JUST dont post.

The only way to drop a map is now to interact with one shot bosses.
You get that?

Here go back and ponder it , like way back before you posted the nonsense.
Hit delete.

All the bosses are just a one shot wrapped in different color pixels.
Its bullshit to force anyone to interact with them.

And you are forced to interact with them.
Ohh look nobody is playing or streaming again.

Wonder why...
I see your point — maybe the devs wanted to make maps more “interactive,” but it feels way too forced

You cannot tell me not to post and delete my posts just because you do not agree with me.

There are very limited number of bosses that can one shot correctly set-up characters.

Those bosses do not spawn at random, but on specific maps. And avoiding them requires little to no effort.

------

Another note: In all cases where a person who complains about one-shots posts his PoB, you could see some absolute non-sense like 3k max hit.

Is this game issue I am asking you?
Absolute glass cannons. Porcelain people.

And they go like: "But I have evasion".

Yea, you have evasion. 50% more or less.

There is 50/50 chance when hit to be sent to hideout. Because you have no deflection, no life, no es, no armor, nothing.

Taking full damage from crits, while playing reduced max res map mod with extra crit multi.

Is this really game issue? Tell me.

It was few hours after this game released. I was fighting the ACT 2 boss and each time I missed a roll and got hit, I had to use a pot charges.

As the fight progresses I began to run out of charges. I was thinking "AM I ACTUALLY GOING TO LOSE THIS?"

For this fight, during those minutes, I honestly thought that GGG delivered what they promised.

It was great, because I actually felt the intensity of the fight, where it was not about dogshit one-shots but consistently playing and dodging.

It was absolutely amazing. Real action RPG.

Yes! Jamanra 1st time of league as a slightly undergeared character is peak content. No potions left at the end, few minutes fight, the only actual one-shot that can happen is in phase 1 if you walk into double-field he casts early. I love that fight every time.
It is extremely hard to have the end game balanced like that, that's reality too unfortunately.
I hope they recognize the issue and the cascade of reactions some decisions drag upon, so they could align better.

I am not sure Jon gets it all.

From the interviews, I think that this person lives in his own world where he thinks that the players feel good when they deal 7 digits damage.

And I am sure that for some players this may be the case indeed. Maybe even for Jon this is the case and this is why he is pushing it like that.

But for me personally, the satisfaction I get when I do end-game maps and put this boss into phase after 2 seconds fight is non-existent, compared to the fight in my first campaign.

I can only hope that Mark will eventually convince him to stop the zoom zoom game design he is doing, and make the game more POE2 and less POE1.
It's quite possible to have enough defenses that The Headcrusher can't quite one shot you. There's in the end not many real one shots in the game, most of the biggest hits seem to be designed so that a player with appropriately scaled defenses loses like 2/3 of their ehp.

I think these monsters are generally quite required, as otherwise, the skill ceiling would get lower. To a lot of players, it feels cool to flirt with close calls and to just barely manage to avoid big, potentially lethal attacks.

There are unfortunately some extra mechanics in play with the monkeh fight that a lot of players wont notice - and why would they, when the game doesn't really give the info. One is that the monkeh has a sunder effect from the slam, that is, all your minions also send a shockwave at you. That shockwave almost doubles the incoming damage. The effect is seen e.g. here, where the player actually takes two distinct hits, one from the slam and one from the sunder: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile2builds/comments/1oax17v/got_slammed_for_7k_by_the_monkey_zekoa_the/

These sort of effects either need to somehow be clarified or then just removed, because they are only findable for a small subset of players.

I gave up at the release of the last season. They made the game stupid. Haven't been in game for months.

Why clarified?

I mean, I walk in like screen full of minions. Cannot see my own feet. We are like 40+. Sometimes much more.

Lets say the GGG makes it super clear by putting a message over my head: "You are about to get hit by 40 shockwaves".

I mean, how is this helping me?

I cannot dodge this shit. I cannot survive it. All I can blame is my own stupidity to even attempt such fight.

It seems to me that removing such mechanics is the logical choice.

I've done enough monkey business that I'm starting to think the Jungle version of the monkey slam has a shockwave that procs off himself as a bug.

I've had a lot of deaths to the slam where I'm very much beside the monkey, and not under the pillar. One in particular I was nearly behind him. It's happened with enough frequency for me to question if it truly is a skill issue... (never written off completely though).

This doesn't seem to happen to me with his Ice-themed sibling, only the Jungle version.

Anyone else experiencing a lot of slam-adjacent monkey-deaths in the jungle?

I could be wrong but it also kind of feels exciting to potentially uncover a monkey one-shot conspiracy.
