Content Update 3.27.0 — Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame

Any news on herald tech, apparently op as hell?
I know kinetic rain is (supposedly) shadow nerfed, thats fine, but what about herald node from bloodline giving you absurd amounts of flat damage within 50 chaos investment?

That's such an asinine comment. Softcore trade essentially being a PvP-economy-based environment ; what others play affects you directly ; as in your purchasing power within said environment / economy.

I will never understand people who say "don't play it if you don't like it" or "let others play what they want".

The goal should be overall balance, not just letting "everyone play what they want".
Affliction and Necropolis worst leagues ever. The current game design has slowly turned this game into a loot-shower fest, chase uniques are way too available; and obtaining chase items through stacked decks and valdo's boxes simply isn't fun.

This is silly.

Yes, we don't want one build to be WAY out of balance with others, but the people who act like "I *have* to do it because SC Trade is PvP" are being silly.

Do you know who makes the absolute most money in SC Trade? What build do they play?

Oh, that's right, the answer is *none*. They are hideout warriors making their money solely from trading. Either by playing margins or by crafting.

Now, the addition of the Currency Exchange cut into this a little, and Async trade will cut in a little more (both because you need gold), but those players will still be making the most money, they might just actually have to run a map now and then.

You can do just fine in SC Trade with a build that is 15% less efficient than whatever Fubgun is doing. You can even do fine in SC Trade with a build that is 30% or even 50% less efficient than Fub.

Bottom line is balance is important, especially early, builds achieving tens of milions of damage (and solid defences) for 50 chaos orbs are not balanced, and are unhealthy for the game on trade - both for economy and the players who will see them outperforming everything and getting nerfed after the damage is already done.

Especially when those builds can go super meta after, cause you build around elementalist.

Balance is important, but not as much as people are making it out to be.

Also, the original complaint was about the Herald node, which people are *way* overexaggerating.

They're saying stuff like "you just get 1000 flat for free".

So "free" is *checks notes* 96% mana reservation, a ring slot, multiple gem sockets, and 2 ascendancy points? Got it.

Yes, in a build built around it, it is strong. Possibly even a little too strong (I don't think we really know yet). But it's not "break the league" strong.

You'll notice NONE of what is provided by that gives any defense, for example (you can technically socket a defensive aura in the ring, but most PoBs are just putting even more damage in there--and it's not like that's an "extra" aura... it's just giving you back a little bit of what you ate up on the Heralds).

Can't put it better than that.

If only more people complained about balance, or the lack thereof; and kept GGG accountable, they would be pressured to do actual real meaningful balance passes and the game would be in a better state overall.

It's just demoralizing having builds crushing the game on 50c at league start, while others are struggling in yellow/red maps. Saying you can stay in your hideout, craft and not play the game, is both irrelevant and a bit disingenuous.

But idk what's worse, the previously mentioned or having people telling others to stay in their hideout and trade...

Ever heard the concept "League Starter"?
It's a build that "demolishes" the game with no investment. You can do red maps on a 4-link with it. It is carried so hard by passive skill tree, ascendancy choice and skill gem choice alone.

Except it doesn't really "demolish" the game. Falls off mid-reds once you have to corrupt them and hit 8-modders. Once you start adding scarabs to your maps. Once you develop an actual farm strategy.

That's when you think about a new character that NEEDS currency to even function, but scales way further up. Your starter usually tops out at about 10-20 div invested and it's not really worth dumping any more currency into it.

It's how it's always been.
"
Syncretism and other Atlas Passive Skills granting either Shrine Buff Effect or Shrine Duration now only grant these benefits to Shrines activated from within Maps.

According to poe dot ninja, only 313 players - 0.3% of all players- in Mercenaries used Blunderbore. Blunderbore has never been rebalanced - nerfed or buffed- since it was added in 2020.

Did they really just nerf this chest because of 300 players out of 100 thousand?!

Were they trying to nerf something else? This chest was so much fun and never OP, and out of nowhere they nerf it. It wasn't even optimal to use when farming Alva. All you needed for effective Alva farming in 3.26 was The Gull, and that didn't get nerfed at all in 3.27.
