PoE1 is Unrecognizable from 10 years ago

Is it a good thing that PoE1 is unrecognizable from 10 years ago? It feels like PoE1 became a guinea pig to test out game mechanics and tweaks for PoE2 at the expense of PoE1.

Adding kingsmarch and gold to the core game was a bad move, Chris Wilson specifically made PoE1 to have the currency orb only economy. I wouldn't be mad if gold was just kept out of the ruthless leagues. Now you have no option to play Poe1 without gold.

Furthermore the game is bloated with league mechanics I couldn't care less about (bestiary, heist, expedition, blight, etcetera) and I'm still forced to engage in those mechanics even though they pull me away from the mindless map runs I used to enjoy every new league.

Can we have a ruthless rework or a new character option for a renegade game mode that has massive de-bloating, restricting access to content that isn't in the new league specifically?

you can deactivate all named league mechanics in the atlas, maybe not the masters content, but the rest, easy.

and you do not need gold, ever. for anything. the only people that need gold are kingsmarch users (hint, you don't need to do it) and currency exchange users. You are none of them. block gold in your lootfilter, done.

sorry but this post is stupid, why do people always think "I couldn't care less about", it's not about you, it's about what everyone wants to play and everyone wants different things, there is literally no way to make you happy and make me happy at the same time, so yeah this posts are always useless made by people who think their opinion is some type of fact or truth, it isn't, game is now better than it was 15 years ago.

I dunno, you can still experience an echo of the pain of desync if you squint (not very hard with how the servers have been), and tormented spirits are still around for some reason. Game hasn't changed at all. =P

You aren't forced to interact with the mechanics you mentioned. Block them on the atlas or ignore them. Just run by. It's totally possible to go an entire league without doing any heists or going to Kingsmarch.

GGG definitely need to update the Atlas tree to make blocking masters an option.

The game was more cozy 15 years ago. All the random encounters thrown together + mtx breaks the immersion for me. It feels like diablo 2 vs diablo 3's whimsyshire stuff honestly.

We've always had chaos orbs to use as "gold", now we have gold pick up just like diablo 3. It's sad dude come on.

This whole bloat argument is ridiculous.
We need more stuff to do not less, hell that is the main complaint ppl have about poe2 just not enough stuff to do, it's why even excelent arpg's like grim dawn lose interest after a while.
I would maybe agree with you if any of this was mandetory but it isn't.
What makes poe so great is you can truly shape your own adventure with lots and lots of mechanics to choose from.

You see this as bloated,i see it more as different options to play.

As long as you dont play ssf,you can trade with other people for all said league specific currency/items,so you dont have to interact with them if you dont want to?

I also dont like kingsmarch and heist,and that's perfectly fine.
i just skip it and do the things i like doing.

And the gold thing is also optional,you dont HAVE to use it.


I guess ur just being somewhat nostalgic to the earlier days of poe,but i sure as hell wouldnt go back to it.

Gold is required for recombinator crafting and disenchanting.

This Mercs league truly is the best version of Poe in a long time. Sad to see it will be deleted in 3.27. Just bring back full harvest for item editing and all is forgiven :)
