Boss's action spam

Hello exiles.

We all know GGG doesn't really care about feedback from players who live outside their social circles, so I'm curious to hear what other players like me think about my issue.

Video source of the topic

This is a prime example of boss action spam. As you can see, Zahmir can't even breathe for a second. There's no "real" cooldown, no thought process, no direction. It's a complete bullet-hell scam.

So, my question is: what do you think compels GGG to create such boring mechanics instead of a much more polished and unique gameplay style? Do you think they keep doing the same thing they did with PoE1 because they know their studio is still so underwhelming compared to others? Or is it just lazy game design? Or is it because their target audience is still 15-25 year olds who love anime and flashy things?

I mean, I just laughed after my character died, but I think there's a difference between skill and pure bullshit, and I think some of these fights are just ridiculous from a gameplay standpoint.

I don't see anything wrong here except that your build isn't good against high mobility boss and Zahmir is one of the very few (and the most annoying I will give you that). It also doesn't feel like a Bullet Hell at all - or one in easy mode. At some point, Boss shouldn't be just sitting duck & punching ball.

And just saying, the passive aggressive comment in the beginning was quite unnecessary.

After a day, I realized that people might find what I said about GGG truly offensive, but I don't say it in a negative way because I play their games constantly, sometimes 10 hours a day. It doesn't feel right that these people at GGG work so hard to create an incredible amount of content only to receive negative feedback, while some developers make games with two platforms and get 5 stars everywhere. So I have to say, even though we're talking about one of a million issues, the game is great and they're doing a pretty good job. And of course, they won't listen to people outside their social circles; they're human and have limited time. I wanted to make that clear, and I apologize if my comments seem too bold, but in reality, I'm just someone trying to give feedback calmly.

Of course, I agree that the boss shouldn't stand still like a piñata. But seriously, are we calling these immune phases "mobility"? Okay. Making a boss untargetable to make your game harder is not an option for me, this is just a bad design in my opinion. Here is a good one:
As you can see, even if one of them enters the invincibility phase, it remains visually readable. It offers exceptionally good area design and a story-driven, immersive combat experience. On the other hand, you have a babyraging anime character named as Zahmir.

Thanks for the answer.

i feel the same, boss spaming iframe and skills sound to be lazing design
this boss with +cast/attack speed is the worst for build like shield wall where you need 2s combo to do damage, the boss is less that 0.5s targetable so you never deal damage

Fun fact, with lightning arrow you can one phase the boss so you will never see the p2 then he will never spam

Voila voila just fact, i think they never play tested the game with other than SS S build

They need to improve or change how they are testing/designing late game content

I disagree with your sentiment about that boss. He is fast and hits hard, but you can dodge all of those Zahmir attacks. It doesn't feel unfair to me.

Once you learn the cadence and how to dodge them, the fight stops feeling frantically reactive and starts being calculated and precise.

Every character has the tools to deal with him in one way or another. Most of it is a "don't get hit" scenario. You need to focus on the timing of when his hits actually "hit", and from what direction. Once you have that, it's a matter of tapping dodge in the right direction. It takes a lot less movement than you're likely imagining.

I recommend taking your character into the 2nd interlude and going into the Azmadi fight without damaging him - just learn how to dodge everything. Take as long as you need. You can always respawn at the checkpoint if you want or need to start over. (This is a good strat for every campaign boss btw)

You'll find it gets easier and easier and eventually it will be more rare when he DOES hit you. Good luck with your boss fights :)

I've to say this is how I feel right now after beating most of the bosses but let me ask you something; is it really has to be that way? I mean, imagine playing ssf or hardcore and facing with this. You grind your way in HC for weeks to get one-shotted by a random boss and now what? Cry, I guess. Why GGG games always forces you to have PhD level of information about everything to have a tiny bit of fun? This is turning a game into a job; watching every boss fight video before entering the arena or training with campaign bosses etc. This is killing the action in arpg for me. You shouldn't be prepared for an event like this. The fight should be much more progressive.

Another great mansion example from the same developer

Well...

I don't have to imagine - I play hc and ssf and I just buck up and learn why it happened and what I can do to stop it from happening again and reroll either an "improved" version of what I just tried to do or pull another idea out of my build backpack and get creative again.

I've played poe long enough to have come to the realizations that almost every single death I've ever postured a "bullshit random one-shot" was actually some combo of me being bad at the game or ignorant of something and is almost always able to be remediated or significantly mitigated through better build, gear, and practice.

So now when it happens to me in poe2, it tells me I'm missing a piece to the puzzle, and I should figure it out - not that the game is designed poorly.

I can tell from your videos that you are capable of dodging boss mechanics - I feel like you could easily master that Azmadi fight if you practiced it a few times, and you'll be able to post a video of your fight on a naked warrior with default attack where he can't even touch you. I believe in you!

When i fought him blind first time doing act4 i tought he was amazing.
I died 3 times i think.
Hardly died to any other new bosses blind also.

I hope they design more bosses like him in the future because it really feel like you are actualy doing mechanics and fightning a boss.

Kinda agree with the person saying that the passive aggressive comment are quite unnecessary. It gets anoying seeing the lack of respect people can have sometimes tbh. I understand being frustrated but it's just a game.

We loose, we win, doesnt mean the game mechanics are poor or bad.
There was obviously a lot of work in that boss. More than the others. It's sad people dont see it.

I have to think to myself while watching this fight that the boss is saying the same shit to himself lol. I get nervous on this fight to but can normally get a stun off and its over after that.
