Don't make such a fuss about an average "mechanic", there were better in the past and they didn't make it into the core like Crucible, Ancestor, Wildwood ascendancy classes...
You can still make great builds without them. Let's not milk one mechanic into the oblivion, there are many other things that need fixing.

Mercs are fresh and fun mechanic. I hope they will comeback somehow.

Food for thought: Merc's only for solo play after a rework. Once you group up they retreat to hideout.

Once again I spent an entire league collecting league specific items and once again it was an entire waste of time because they are simply added to the core game.
I suppose the infamous mods will be legacy but I do not care about missing out on them.
The league itself was still fun, but damn.
Every league I am more worried about hoarding stuff and not having to bleed myself dry to purchase a new legacy in standard than actually enjoying the game. Guess the trauma from skipping Affliction is still there.
