Give us no-loot no-xp infinite revives mode for maps

In other news local man asks to be strapped to electric chair and violently electrocuted "because it's fun"

I want to run a juiced map, I want to experience the difficulty. I do not want to get randomly 1shot and lose the content I worked for.
It's not even losing content as much as not being able to overcome what 1shot me. It's frustrating.
If I want to bang my head against the wall called "overjuiced map",let me. I don't care about the loot or xp. I care about overcoming this wall.

So a proposition:

No loot, no xp, keep the xp loss on death, mode for maps. Infinite revives.

You can do this now. Leave yourself one revive, and if you die, don't return to the instance. You can then rerun the same map with a new juiced waystone.

This is disingenuous at best.

Why not?

Well simply put, it's not what ARPGs are. The fundamental design of ARPGs is progression. Fight monster > get stronger. If u kill monsters u're supposed to progress in either items or experience.

Adding a mode like that doesn't make sense and would confuse a lot of players.

I'm not saying PoE2 is perfect in this sense right now, but excluding progression from the gameplay loop is wasted dev time. Also how long do u think u'd play this mode until u're bored? I'd imagine pretty fast.

At least for me, once progression stops or get's extremely slow I tend to lose interest in the game. And I enjoy ramming my head against walls, but not in ARPGs.

That is kinda same if i would go to the gym but my muscles dont grow and i dont get stronger. I just lift the weights... for what? To feel the difficulty but not getting anything of it..4

Exploit as the answer, perfect fix for mechanic not working as intended.

This IS called endgame. You're supposed to be at the peak of progression. The only progression from this is bragging rights.

Well, yeah I'd complete a map, consider the obstacle overcome and move on to the next map. When I get bored/run out of maps, I'd go back to ToC or regular mapping.

Lol, it's absolutely the opposite. This is progression limbo. Limbo is infinite. Infinite time spent playing the game is infinitely better than ANY absolute amount.

uh no? the muscles are metaphor for overcoming content. Also, what's so wrong with lifting weights for the sake of lifting weights? You breathe every day, yet it's not making you breathe any better.

What? Why? Wait until you're at 0% level progression, spend 100ex on 100 juiced waystones, and run all 100 in any way you want. Spend a divine and run 1000 waystones or more. Do you think the OP is going to run more than 1000 maps without getting better?
SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

Lifting weights without real muscle growth and/or getting stronger is called endurance training xD
But yeah on one hand I get what op wants but on the other hand... Yeah that's poe for you xD

That might be endgame for u and maybe 0,0000000000001% of the playerbase.
I'd argue that most people playing ARPGs do it with progression in mind. Even in very endgame scenarios, there's still min maxing to do. U play maps to get more currency to upgrade ur character (or start a new build).
A very tiny minority plays for the sake of playing. (imo)

Well there is no infinite gameplay loop. Once progression is done, most people either play to amass currency for whatever reason or they start a new build/quit. If u wanna talk infinite, u can look at player counts at the end of a league. Those are the players that enjoy "infinite" content and even that number is probably the majority of players that started new builds instead of running maps to infinity.

Anyway, u wanted to know why people think it doesn't make sense and that's my explanation. There's not much more to it.

Never asked for an explanation of that lol, nor is it why people(except a few forum lurkers) think this doesn't make sense. You "voice of the people" types are amusing.

A very tiny minority is also min maxing to the point of running through maps with 1 button and no effort, yet you're fine with them doing it.

"

A very shallow way to look at it. Also, I can get 10x the effective currency of a single juiced t15 map by just running a single ToC, consistently.

"
Once progression is done
Whose progression? Meta builds? You know people don't play only meta builds? Voice of the people again...

"
Those are the players that enjoy "infinite" content
No, those are the players left after the ones fed up with losing their rightfully earned maps to a bs oneshot have left. Don't take my word for it, read the forums.
You're delusional if you think PoE doesn't have addictive gameplay.
