Please explain this design to me
Can someone explain to me the idea of abilities that just oneshot you basically no matter how many EHP you have?
I have 6.3k Mana (all damage taken from mana before life) with max resistances and Chaos Immunity. Just got oneshot by a random Breach white mob which i could barely even see, from the edge of the screen. I am sure there must be a gigachad 5head design decision behind this. Sadly I am probably just to bad to get it. Just git gud I guess. Should have played ES with 15K so it just two shots me, my bad. Last bumped on Sep 11, 2025, 11:52:35 AM

So...at 15,311ES w/ Capped Resistance with some giga juiced maps ranged things will still one-shot me. Monster Damage+%, a couple of extra damage as X rolls and it's gonna happen. Plenty of dangerous combinations that just aren't survivable.
The "gigachad" solution is to one-shot things off-screen before they even become active. The reality is that scaling defenses is an illusion and a trap. It sucks but right now that's how it is. Last edited by akkarin#2773 on Sep 11, 2025, 6:19:47 AM

You're gonna need a second monitor to read all the comments coming soon that are just "not our fault your build doesn't work", "Just get more currency". Etc.

Ah yes, the help I am here for. But you forgot the people telling me my opinion doesn't matter and I have no idea, because my account is not 10+ years old. And that they are just so much better than me, because they already played POE1 for 12 years and so on and so forth.

I have played poe1 since beta and agree with the trolling when talking about actual mechanics. Normally there is a give or take between picking offense or defensive options on any character. Need Damage but Need to be Alive to deal damage.
Nothing like having 8k es and getting hit for 7500 damage with burning applied from it on top. It really don't matter its early access. Just do what we was forced to do last season, play with bows. Apparently they forgot about the other classes again. 0.4 maybe they will actually focus on other class options and abilities and not the simple easy ones like bow pew pew pew builds. |
