SSF crafting is horrendous - buff Omen & Bone drops
|
We need a way to target farm Omens and other crafting materials with better drop rates. There are 3 ways that I know of currently:
1) King of the Mists 2) Unique map that has Omen Alters 3) Rituals King of the Mists has a pretty bad drop rate for good omens even with 150%+ IIR. The fight is also a bit too easy if you're an optimized high DPS endgame build. I'd like see a tougher difficulty (actually "uber") with perhaps more buy-in (500 sticks?) but with a much better drop rate and quantity. Ideally tougher difficulty doesn't mean 100x HP but more challenging mechanics that require mechanical skill instead of just blasting away for 5 minutes. The Omen Alters map also has a bad drop rate for good omens. I've ran dozens of these and never seen anything worthwhile. Rituals used to be my main source of Omens. But with tower overlaps gone I can't juice them as much as I used to. On top of that ritual tablets are much rarer drops now. So we already have a way to target farm these things. They just need better drop rates so it's worth our time to do so. Regarding trade balancing... IMO it should be possible to accomplish basic self crafts using dropped loot even in trade league. That would simply mean that the drop rates need to be improved a little bit. For profit crafting, mirror tier crafting, etc there are certain items that can stay very rare. For example Omen of Light is something that has a suitably low drop rate for the power that it provides. OTOH something like Ancient Jawbone has pretty bad drop rate for the power it provides. Crafting mid-tier gear and "slightly above mid-tier" gear should be accessible through target farming crafting materials. Last edited by Kestrel0x01#8441 on Oct 17, 2025, 3:38:11 AM

" you dont have to make it perfect the first time, thats why we have leagues, if you want to test improved droprates for solo self found (i guess like 200% more currency drops), just make a new temporarily league of like 2 weeks with hugely improved drops and see what happens, if its bad (too easy/too much) then reduce it for the next league SSF mode, easy. |

SSF is a more of a roguelike mode. Standard or trade league is there if you want to 100% a build. You don't even need to be remotely well geared to finish all content in the game at the moment. I was under the impression that item rarity affixes and SSF existed so that players could control the pace of their progression and not necessarily finish their goals in nearly the same time as trade league layers.
I only play SSF and it is my duty as one to inform you of my status. Last edited by SoFaux#7759 on Oct 20, 2025, 2:00:07 PM
