SSF crafting is horrendous - buff Omen & Bone drops
|
SFF is for people without life and job. That`s the actual state of this game.
GGG do not care about balance dropping for this difficulty type. |

" You're telling me it should be normal to never see a Perfect Exalted orb? I almost ended up with 0 Greater Chaos orbs but somehow got 2 on the last day. I finished the campaign and endgame. I target farmed Abyss & Ritual for Omens and always deferred Greater orbs along the way. I never saw a Perfect orb. Ever. That's a problem that needs attention. Even if the game is balanced around trade, someone has to get those drops to be available on trade. I got like 7 Divine orbs. So how much did a Perfect Exalted orb go for in trade? 10D? Come on. That's ridiculous. If they buff the drop rates, it just means that it'll be cheaper for you to buy Perfect orbs. There's no problem with that since Perfect orbs don't even guarantee a T1 roll. Chaos can still be rare but Exalted should be accessible to everyone, SSF or not. Even Greater orbs are too rare. I think in total I only got like 10-15 Greater Exalted orbs. So I had to Ex-slam with the lowest tier orbs. It's not about SSF vs Trade. The drop rate just sucks regardless of league. Last edited by peter1990ex#0531 on Sep 18, 2025, 9:53:45 AM

Im a tourist in this game and played a good bit of trade in 2 leagues. its fun and the async trade made it better. i decided this league i would give SSF a shot and honestly its very very nice not having to look at item rolls or items in general outside of your class. Now the end game and the scarcity or things like omens to craft is beyond insane. i have 150% rarity on my character, farming t15s, i also do t4 pinnacle bosses, i have abyssal mods on any maps which i break out in cleansed areas, i run ritual on literally everything. i have a total of 240 hours in SSF i am lvl 96 (because i kept dying even though i had 71% evasion, 73% chance to deflect and 2300 hp) didnt get better untill i picked up 500 ES and ran ghost shroud. Ess is a good example of a good system, if i spec into essences on the tree and farm maps getting a few perfect battle or haste is only a few maps away. now omens of light or echoes (you need both as using a desecrate roll without echoes on a nearly finished item or one your lighting is full on stupid) Even fractured orbs are targetable. but omens lol ive had 1 whittling which was dropped from max difficulty king (this guy drops absolute trash, why is he not a good source of omens?) why doesnt the kulmak mark boss drop omens of light and echoes? why does pinnacle content just not drop anything to progress your character outside of niche uniques and jewels. it takes a very good amount of time to get 150 of each the keys to enter the bosses and yet the reward for this just doesnt exist? ESP in SSF as once you get the unique to drop you can slam divines on it to fix any bad rolls. Crafting needs to be fixed. omens shouldnt be insanely difficult to obtain. there is a reason only RWTers can afford early league to actually craft good items an then corner the market. because the items are just to rare and it prices out any normal player.

I tend to agree with this.
Some people think that crafting is OP right now but that's making a huge assumption about how many people actually get enough currency to participate in it. If we get out of lala land and think of how rare most of this stuff is for the average player things change quite a bit. I do NOT think that SSF should get any special treatment though. If the system needs to be improved it should be across all modes Last edited by JODYHiGHR0LLER#6171 on Oct 16, 2025, 11:03:20 PM

Rarity on gear in the endgame is a noob trap if you play solo, best to utilize it in a group. So yeah SSF is doomed for crafting high end gears. I made more currencies by hunting citadels with 0 rarity on gears than farming maps alone with 200% IIR.

" If the shoe fits. Combat slot machine was me showing some respect for difference in taste. I could have said elaborate Skinner box. " Because as long as being a slot machine is the central and defining characteristic of the game, little effort will be given (and it has not been given) to anything else. Tactical combat requires agency, agency is undermined by random. Agency is obliterated when everything, including the access to interesting challenges, is also gated by random. And we aren't talking about a little random, we're talking random odds that are equal to or worst then those found in the most predatory gambling "games." For example the odds of getting any specific tier of movement speed on boots is less than the chance to win $4 in the powerball lottery. This mechanic has earned the contempt. Unrelated: The powerball lottery is also very popular. It's almost like using gambling mechanics creates some compulsive behavior and the use of those mechanic is low effort. " So, take it or leave it, but a little piece of personal advice that you might find valuable is to not waste time showing respect that you don't actually have. Saying that you "could have said 'elaborate Skinner box'" means that you don't actually have the respect you showed so next time save us all the time and don't bother trying to show it. " Guy I don't know how you're found your way to PoE if you don't like random loot. The random loot mechanisms of Rogue (1980) inspired Diablo (1996) which inspired Diablo 2 (2000) and those specific mechanics have been cited by GGG as a primary motivation for building PoE. If you don't like them then I don't understand why you're even here. I think it's safe to say that if you don't like the actual literal reason they built this game then you're better off finding another game to play rather than trying to convince them it was a bad idea. " Loot being random has nothing to do with combat being random. You're just spouting nonsense at this point. Last edited by Kerchunk#7797 on Oct 17, 2025, 1:13:00 AM

I would even play ssf if it had better drop rates than non ssf (but the character can't be transferred to base leagues, not sure thats still a thing? it was in poe1)
To me its such a sweatie gamer thing (and i have over 6k hours in poe 1 lol), i love trading, losing the perks and fun of trading and crafting with it should come with a hefty boost. |
|
" If you have 6k hours in PoE1 then you absolutely have to understand what it means to ask the team to maintain and balance two completely different economies at the same time. If it was easy they would have done it years ago. |
|
" the whole thing crafting in this game is slot machine. |
