How commons are hits of 60000 physical damage really?
I used hits of 6000 in my math -- so the numbers in my original post are based upon a very reasonable "big" physical hit. In Carnarius' video, he said the Act 3 monkey hits for 10k physical (which is not even end-game).
This is why the math analysis is so compelling in my opinion. A reasonable 6000 point hit becomes a death sentence for a warrior with 3000 health unless they have more than 60,000 armour.
Meanwhile, you just need 6000 ES to eat that hit. It's not hard to get 6000 ES in end-game.
It is very hard to get 60,000 armour in end-game.

There’s no way the monkey hits that hard
I stood in it and survived this time around and you don’t even have 1.4k health by that point

100% citations are needed for this figure. i can survive that hit with <2k hp as well, and im def not sporting 60k+ ARM lol

Fair, but you got hung up on an axillary data point, meanwhile the base argument still stands. You can watch the video linked earlier in this topic (which is very good btw) -- maybe I'm quoting the wrong monkey? I believe there's a map monkey boss similar to the act 3 monkey.
Even if you feel the 6000 point hit used in my original post is not realistic, it still shows how inferior the Armour is compared to ES (or how powerful ES is in general). In short an ES player with 6000 shield can survive that hit, and an Armour player with 3000 life cannot (unless they have 60k armour).

the thing is that this auxiliary data point makes your whole argument. you are misrepresenting the situation because there is a lot of burst damage in the game, something armor can completely negate. this was brought up early itt so im not sure why you are still sticking to this narrative

What are you talking about -- is a 6000 point hit not "burst damage"? How did armour completely mitigate that?
Yes Armour is wonderful when dealing with lots of small little hits -- nobody is dying from those. Seriously. Play an ES toon and then tell me how bad you got it from all those little hits.
We're talking simple math using the (Ar / (Ar + 10 x Dmg)) equation. The math speaks for itself.
What is the narrative exactly? That warriors have a health pool around 3000 life? That getting 60k armour is unreasonable? Getting hit for 6000 physical damage in one hit is possible? Please illuminate...

I don’t need someone to tell me how far es is ahead of armour it’s pretty obvious
That doesn’t mean we should start misrepresenting things into hyperbole. Especially when it’s the monkey from act III, midway through the campaign
So far, I am noticing an extremely large change in armour and it’s defense in my .3 play versus my .1 play (both titan warriors)
And it doesn’t seem to be slowing down either but I’ll keep monitoring how things go as I progress further into end game
I’m standing currently in abyss mechanics, something I CANNOT do with minions, even the green balls and shards will destroy that character versus my warrior just kind of tanking it all
