Making level 100 rewarding

" I'm saying "like"... Not directly correlates. Again, why are you offended by simple comparisons? |

I'm not offended, im pointing out that your thinking is flawed. There is no good reason for GGG to make going from 99-100 any more consequential in terms of character power than 98-99.

Not gameplay rewards. Cosmetic reward is fine. As someone who now has multiple level 100 characters, I don't think there should be more benefit than there is to getting the last few lvls.
Having characters close to full power at lvl 96 is good. The extra skill points is there for people who do grind out the last 4 levels, but it should not be more than it already is in my opinion, because it starts to feel forced that you get to 100. There is items like poets pen, which I think is kind of cool, benefitting of 100, but I don't think in general it should be insentifised more than it already is. I think it is getting easier to get to 100 now, but I think the bonus you get for the final levels is sufficient. Most players will not take their character to 100, and it should be relatively balanced by the time they get 96, as it currently is. I'm not strongly against the idea, but I think it is good how they have it currently, where going to 100 is a choice or a natural occurrence for people who play a lot, and not a big jump in power, which already 4 more points and stats does improve your character. Most of the game exists in levels before 100 and not the final grind to getting it. Last edited by Belegur85#5784 on Sep 11, 2025, 10:12:22 PM

" But then there is no good reason to get 2 skillpoints for killing Kitava and none for other bosses. |

No, but the problem is it is quite easy to do that in the scheme of the current game, but most players think it is a lot of work to get to 100 and forgo the benefit. If more reward is placed behind getting 100, it begins to become more mandatory and also needs to be taken into account when trying to balance endgame content.
I think the suggestions OP has made are pretty conservative in terms of power, and wouldn't be that bad. Though if something was given, it really needs to be generic, like skill points, or else some builds wont benefit at all. Typically getting these long distances in XP in arpg's has not been about getting power, but rather having something small to continue to achieve when the majority of the full power of the character has already been achieved. Reaching 100 and no longer getting XP doesn't feel great when continuing to play, and having an infinite system also has problems. They have found a balance where by the rewards are not increasingly mandatory, but it is still a challenge to get to. As has been pointed out in the thread, some players already have been complaining about the XP grind to 100. I don't agree with them, but that would also become more of an issue if more power was gated behind unlocking max level. I did not watch anyone playing in the last few gauntlets, but I wonder what level the highest players were attempting ubers at? I think that would give a pretty good indication of the point at where the grind starts to out way the benefit of the extra points. Were they going to max level or attempting them earlier? Racing to 100 seems to not be in vouge for some time, since there are other challenges having a solid enough build to get there, such as the uber bosses. " They attempt Ubers at 100 and there really isn't a reason not to do so because we've been gaining about 2-3x as much EXP in regular T16s in the last 4 leagues. In the case of Gauntlet it's even more important because skillpoints are guaranteed power without any RNG. |

Gotcha. Certainly is easier. Still along way for most player. I don't really think it is necessary to have a bonus, but maybe that shows that the grind isn't so tough anymore.
Don't really want to use gauntlet players as the measure stick, I was just interested. Thanks for the info. Last edited by Belegur85#5784 on Sep 12, 2025, 7:21:01 AM
