Beware the new Scam! GGG won’t help you – you’re on your own.
Heads up Exiles – there’s a nasty new scam in the trade system, and people are losing big currency to it.
Here’s how it works: Scammers list a batch of items in the instant buy window. Example: 20 Inscribed Ultimatums. Half are listed way below market value (bait). The rest are listed way overpriced (the trap). If you bulk buy, you don’t check every single item price – you just grab them all. That’s exactly what the scammer counts on. You think you’re getting a great deal, but you’re actually paying several times over market. And here’s the kicker: GGG Support doesn’t care. No refunds. No action against the scammer. You’re left holding the bag. So what does this mean? If you bulk buy, you are 100% on your own. The system basically allows scammers to do whatever they want. Spread the word so fewer people get burned. Until GGG fixes this (if they ever do), your only defense is to know this scam exists and avoid bulk buys unless you want to risk getting gutted. Stay safe out there. Last bumped on Sep 10, 2025, 8:19:57 AM

Look at what you're doing and don't just mindlessly spam click to buy. Problem solved.

in d2 you could rob peoples gear when they were transferring..
join public games and hunt people down to pk them.. talk endless trash and pvp scene was ruthless.. your body could "pop" if you made a simple mistake and all your gear would fall on the ground for players to steal.. countless "learn to dupe" scams.. item swap scams.. scams create a ruthless environment. it might be annoying and feel bad to get scammed, but just learn, adapt, and move on. Not properly using your eyes and impatient is not being scammed, its being dumb.
The trade window is scam-proof, albeit still needs to be improved by adding confirmation button. |

" This is the kind of stuff that should be deleted. And I'm referring to the poster, not GGG. I'm all for constructive criticism, but this one is entirely on the player. There are things that GGG could, and will do, to help improve the trade system, but coming right of the gate with a "problem" that is mostly you not thinking before you buy something expensive is mostly a you problem, not a game problem. The trade system, again, has flaws, but it's a vast improvement over what we had before and clearly shows GGG is listening to the players and trying to improve the experience for everyone. |

Mate though it really sucks to be scammed that's entirely on you for rushing things. GGG is not responsible for situational awareness. I've been scammed like this before but I was in a rush and bought bulk and lost Divs because I was in a rush. Take responsibility for your actions, luckily there was no real consequences in this situation.

Is there a bulk buy option or is this just spam clicking? If it's spam clicking then it's a known "scam" but they should add some sorta in-between screen to make sure you are paying what you are paying like the old system to stop missclicks. I haven't interacted with this system much yet so not sure if those safe guards exist yet.
If there is a bulk buy option then it should be only allowed for same priced items. either way some UI and Ux design could help alleviate this issue for people. One major issue is greater and regular currency look exactly the same or so similar you can't really tell, this should be fixed on their end 100%. New scam alert! I walked through the store with my eyes closed and ended up with a bunch of crap I don't want!

I'd rather see further development into the game instead of trade systems that shouldnt even be on their radar during beta testing.

OP admits he did not check prices.
This is a user issue. It sucks, but you got burned so now you know to check next time. |
