POE 2 Trade Live Search Not Working

Same +1

The situation is clear: Path of Exile has more bots than ever, which most likely translates into a flood of API requests hitting the trade site and that’s why live search is struggling, and why it’s now capped per account and IP.

Spoiler
I really like the new trade system, but it still needs work. The way GGG is handling it just isn’t working out, even if I’m sure their intentions are good. Locking trade until Act 4 and adding a gold fee are nice ideas, but they don’t fix the core issue. Maybe something like an account-wide limit on Mirrors or Headhunters would help?

The problem is massive. For example, I recently checked the price of PoE 2 keys on a Polish auction site and instead of legit offers I found over 5000 RMT listings. That’s just insane.

Let me be clear: nothing annoys me more than people who cheat by buying currency or items.

GGG should also invest more in automated tools to flag suspicious accounts. This league I spotted an account sitting on roughly 60 Headhunters. Prices skyrocketed from 3000 to 6300 Exalts in just one day due to manipulation. And honestly, I doubt it’s the only account like that, there are probably dozens more twisting the economy and fueling RMT.

I find it to be a bigger of an issue when you can't even have 5 live searches, than bots are .... It becomes a huge problem when normal players can't even use the live searches due to these harsh limitations, I do understand limitations, but the limits on these are incredibly harsh.
i just dont want to play that game without live searches and rules like that. i understant they want to limit bots and stuff but the 20 tab limits was enough, now if oyu have 5 live search with all the reload and refresh check search you will destroy your 50 connection in a mater of 3 4 hours it's stupid, people botting will still be able to bypass it by having multiple account and stuff like that, it just worsen the majority experience for something that wont fix bots..

I understand that there are rules against bots. And if a normal player crosses the line of 10 life searches per time, then acceptable to block him for 10-60 minutes. But how much does it now? Half a day? A day? Forever?

I see this error already 12 hours

the funniest thing is that it's a f2p game so this solution will work for about 1-2 leagues at max, but even that is a stretch, they will get more accounts (even paid ones), when was this even a problem for those who make out of it

You have a maximum of 20 concurrent live searches.

You have a maximum of 50 live searches attempts over 24 hours!

Meaning that if you change your mind on a filter (e.g. raise price, change stat filters etc.) 50 times over 24 hours you're going to be blocked!

The maximum attempts is the actual issue!

Good theory, but no. I have the same 7 tabs for 3 days. I open them every day and change maybe a couple a day maximum. I would never be able to get 50.

Well it's not a theory...
If you check your request in Firefox (I don't know where to see these in Chrome) you will see these in headers

X-Rate-Limit-Account
50:86400:3600
X-Rate-Limit-Account-State
87:86400:3600
X-Rate-Limit-Ip
15:60:60,30:60:300,45:120:3600
X-Rate-Limit-Ip-State
1:60:0,1:60:0,1:120:0
X-Rate-Limit-Policy
trade-websocket-request-limit
X-Rate-Limit-Rules
Ip,Account

Meaning, you have 50 requests every 86400 seconds (24 hours) and if you exceed that you get 3600 seconds timeout (1 hour). The state is where it's at meaning I did 87 requests in the last 24 hours and it blocks me for 1 hour.

The 1 hour timeout is kind of pointless because even if I wait that hour I will still be blocked for another hour next time I search unless at least 37 requests from more than 24 hours ago expire.

The IP limit is modest and really it's ok, the account limit is crazy low.

Unless this is newly implemented (since last night) I don't see how it could be true.

I've run a ton of searches in poe 1 changing them constantly, well exceeding 50 within 24 hours without issue.

Also, the number of people experiencing this issue is massive, if there was a limit of 50 you'd see forum posts about people being unable to search on a daily basis. I don't remember seeing anything like this ever.

That is such a bad 'solution' to this problem :)

You're saying that there won't be bots that will just activate 20 live searches and keep them on FOR DAYS or FOR WEEKS bypassing this 'FIX' entirely.

Instead of preventing bots you are preventing real people that actually search for different stuff or modifying searches.

YOU ARE HELPING THE BOTS!!!

WHO TAKES THESE DECISIONS??
