I'm tired, boss....
" One of the biggest mistakes they've ever made, in both games, is balance around trade. And this one was the 1st mistake I was hoping would never come ro POE 2.....oh well. |

I think the issue is that GGG has too much on their plate. They were consistent with POE1 leagues, but with the introduction of POE2, they're struggling to keep up and it shows in the quality of what they release. I would bet money that POE1 will be brushed aside within a couple years, as I doubt they can realistically sustain both.

" well i actually think poe2 is currently balanced around ssf (its properly challenging in that mode) now how will they handle their new trade system only time will tell. |

They need to start regulating the RMT. Look what's happening now...a week after a release and people have hundreds of divines to buy gear that should have taken them months to acquire normally. We've got multiple god-tier bows for mirroring available to the community. I'm all for making crafting better, but its really only benefitting people that spend real money on currency. I started saving for a headhunter when it was 20d, then within a week the price went to 68d....As a normal player that doesn't RMT, it took me literally 4 entire days to grind that much currency...and I spent it on just one item. There are people, streamers even, that capitalize on RMT within a couple days of the league and max out their gear and then flood the market with their crafting so they can control the currency market. It's out of control.

"Do tell... inb4 a gaslighter responds to your post. Remove the ability to trade directly and remove the ability for seller to positively identify their item to the buyer and RMT for items and currency 99.999 % goes away. |

" Removing trade would solve much of the problems around item. Essentially forcing only a SSF mode. But then they will need to balance around crafting which imo is going to be fun but time consuming. I guess trade could be enabled for grouped + in the same instance only. That means basically raw drops. |

No trading would kill the game. You can easily check the difference between the population in PoE 1 - non-SSF and SSF. And considering how they keep making trade easier and easier - removing it entirely wouldn't make sense.

This game feels like it's in a constant tug of war with the players.

Watching from the outside (I don't, nor will I ever, play PoE Deuce), I see plenty of issues with the game. Some were predictable, most particularly the gradual but inevitable evolution toward what everybody bitched about regarding PoE: The speed meta. I recently watched a video showing how to craft MS 50 boots in Deuce. 50.
With the exception of a very limiting Unique, I've never seen MS 50 boots in PoE. Why is that even possible, if the idea was to slow down gameplay? The single biggest symptom I have of "The Vision" going off the rails is the dodge roll. Apparently, the Devs had a real gripe with PoE players using various move skills (Flame Dash, Frostblink, and the like) in combat, each of which had a thematic or tactical focus. So, what did they do? They gave EVERBODY dodge roll, and designed the game, and elements like Sprint, around it. From where I'm standing, dodge roll is an out-of-place mechanic. It's practically mandatory, in spite of being a sort of goofy, one-size-fits-all bandaid. Mebbe Legolas did acrobatics in fights, but Conan, Elric, and Aragorn sure didn't. Can you imagine when the Templar finally (if ever) releases? That old man is gonna look ridiculously spry, rolling around the battlefield. So, enjoy Path of Dodge Roll while you can, because, while there will likely be some good changes and additions, they will all be jammed into a flawed framework. And some real stinkers will also come down the pike. Count on it. ='[.]'= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/
