I guess what I'm really saying is that I don't believe you. I think you undergeared for the boss, and don't want to admit it. But that's just a guess. All I know for sure is that I got hit with the exact same "scripted one-shot" you describe, and I didn't die.

This isn't a top player or whatever. Has slightly worse gear than I had.

I just redid my build in PoB and it has 291% increased ES minus about 20% from jewels, 20% from amy, 946 life and base 262 ES
About 600-700 ES base from gear (100+ from boots and head each, about 50+ gloves, 80+ focus, rest must have been the robe) and 262 base from life, add +300%, you got about 4k
Add some life from campaign and gear, convert 5% to es = 4k easy. Actually I had 4170 something ES if you have to know.

I don't know what's so crazy about that.

What I'm saying is you shouldn't have to learn about them by dying to them, it's bad and dumb. IF they are destined to exist then it's the game's job to give me a warning at least, HC or SC doesn't matter.
