It was even worse in POE1 where you move like a snail on super glue. The effect appeared to be significantly lessened in POE2 and was actually dumbed-down even further now that you can dodge-roll the curse. Originally, the curse was permanently placed on you for the entire duration of the map.
the activation for the curse is pretty fast, when it comes i can hardly dodge out of it, especially when it's cast on my character, which means dodging out of it isn't possible.
In this case, you actually exposed the root cause of the issue for yourself which is your % increased movement speed.
I'm using base 30% movement speed on boots + tailwind stacks + movement speed from passive skills which puts me far outside of the radius of the curse before I can be affected by it.
This is still far more lenient than was it was for all of POE history, which was to curse you permanently for the duration of the map. At least now, you have a chance to avoid it if you can.

I truly want to see anyone from GGG doing a T15 or T16 map stacked with all the curses plus chilled ground without dying once.

I'm going to say it again:
You can reduce curse effect on you
You can reduce chill effect on you
You can reduce the effect of slowing debuffs on you
These stats exist for a reason.
PoE endgame is designed around forcing you to solve these utility problems so you can't comfortably just spam DPS and Effective HP to 'beat' the game. There are multiple ways to solve these problems and you just need to pick some or not be able to comfortably run those maps.
This is how they challenge endgame builds and force creativity. If you want a 'complete' build you need to solve all possible utility problems while also having enough DPS and Survivability. It stresses your gear and passive slots so you have to find ways to become more efficient and lean with your sources of DPS and Survival.
They want you to rely on Combos to maximize your DPS so you can invest in more defensive and utility solutions in the passive tree. You can free up some room by using unique items which solve utility issues at the cost of base stats.
Welcome to PoE

yeah bro, let me buy an entire new set of gear just because of having the off-chance of having 1 particular annoying modifier on a waystone.
let me maintain and upgrade an entire new loadout of items, something that the game isn't even designed around as it doesn't have loadouts.

I love that they turned it from a mental skill check (trade it to a pathfinder or sell it) to a literal skill check (dodge it) and people still have absolutely no shame in asking for it to be removed.
I hope they don't keep making the game easier every patch.

Right? Basically he's saying get rid of your fun build and any strengths it might have and invest in reducing all these effects a little bit. At the same time, change your gear but also keep in mind your new gear needs to have the right combination of resistances on top of any str, int, dex stats and spirit you were using.
So much for build diversity

No guy. He's saying make some tradeoffs. Balance your build. Sacrifice some damage for some utility and some defense.
Like if "fun" for you means mindlessly slamming every single passive point and affix you have into raw damage that's fine but you can't expect GGG to come to the rescue because the result isn't a balanced build. You have the tools available to you to deal with these issues you're just choosing not to.

this just means you don't play melee and only ranged and maybe monk.
