PoE2; The game VS the casino sim
I'm almost done with the campaign experience (aka. the game) this league and like everyone else has said already, the game is all too easy. Previous leagues felt much better in terms of challenge and as consequence felt as a much more rewarding experience. Just fyi, I'm not playing meta or using a guide.
The positives of 0.3 to me are a lot and include sprinting which is very well implemented and makes backtracking a complete non-issue, the pacing of the game feels very good, crafting also feels good (except blues due to the 2 mods restriction, and runes which are very scarce), the controls are even more responsive, and of course the new act. For the negatives, the most disappointing aspect for me was the boss encounters. They are nowhere near what we were promised from GGG. In my experience with a casual, non-min/maxed build I was downing them in seconds. No mechanics, no threat, no excitement, nothing. Just loot pinatas. Where is the "at least a couple of minutes of fighting"? That has to change asap. Another thing that has to change is how fast the player can start basting. It's way too fast right now, resulting in an underwhelming character progression. Act 1 has to slow down quite a lot. Visibility/performance/density. All of these are 1 category and I think having meme density in this game just feels bad. Maybe if there was a specific mode that had that, could be ok but as of right now the experience is quite frankly terrible. Jank upon jank. Horrible, not fun at all. At this point, Poe 2 is barely a game with mostly all of its challenge striped away. If GGG wants to go down the path of further trivializing the game in favor of the casino sim enthusiasts, I think they should seriously rethink that. I know I'm not interested in "playing" a casino sim and I know most gamers are not in for that experience either. Unless there's some challenge brought back into the campaign very soon, or with 0.4, I don't see myself and players like me staying. PoE 2 has all the tools necessary to thrive as a game, unlike its predecessor. It would be mad shame for GGG to reduce it into an arcade blaster for casino sim fans. " Says the guy that can't get pass Trial of Sekhemas because he finds too hard 👀 😂 |

" Sure buddy. You gathered that from my replies in other threads? Too bad "finding something not fun" and "being unable to pass them" are completely different things, but that concept might be a bit hard to understand for you, right? |

" Yes. It's worth saying because I'm asking for more challenge and you're asking for less. So, your motive for saying what you said in your first post is clear. I want to play the game. You don't. |

" Just because you keep repeating something I never said doesn't make it true, you know that, right? Otherwise quote where I said "I want trials to be less difficult". Go ahead, I'll wait. And apparently you don't want to play the game, hence this thread. Last edited by dreamstate42#3955 on Sep 6, 2025, 11:50:19 AM

" I gave constructive feedback. Explaining the pros and the cons of 0.3 as I see it. That's because I love the game, not the other way around. |

I agree with OP, campaign is a bit too easy in its currents state and new Boss felt non relevant.
It's all about balancing now. | |
" Exactly. Bring some challenge back into the campaign, buff up bosses a bit like they were in 0.1 and we're GG. The game is fun. Performance is a huge issue and they somewhat control it without going overboard with density but even then there's a lot of work to be done there. |
