Why people say ED contagion great?

Its terrible.


Im lvl 23.

I put ALL skillpoints in chaos damage.

It takes 5seconds to kill white mob.
Some mobs die in 4 seconds.


The heck am i suppose to do with abyss that spawns blue and rares in total ~30-50 mobs?

minions are the same. seems like nothing is good early on

You guys can kill white mobs?

At level 40 it takes 5-7seconds to kill white mobs and 15-20seconds to kill blue mobs in atzual.

From level 27-37 the ED felt okay. Now it again starts becoming absolutely slog.

You sound like you're expecting 1 button instant screen clear. Playing the wrong game if so.

I leveled ED/Contagion and it was very smooth and quite fast tbh.
Its very strong for leveling in my opinion.

You are either doing something wrong, or you just expect something unrealistic.
Try getting a good wand by checking the vendor between level ups, he often times sells quite good wands with +spell lvls and/or spell damage.

I also like to play wand & scepter in dual-wield to also use some minions alongside ED/Contagion. They make the early stages a vast amount easier imo, since they act as meat shields and also do some damage.

I played Lich ED/C until I inevitably died to some bs at level 50.

It starts off painfully slow but ramps up at around level 35. White packs & abysses are easy. Most things die quickly. Rares generally take about 10seconds. It does suck a lot for bosses though. Most boss fights last like 2-3min which I guess is exactly what GGG wanted.

My suggestion: get a wand with +chaos skill and spell/chaos damage %. The +chaos skill is the biggest upgrade. I pretty much doubled my damage when I got a +3 wand.

Your minions act as meat shields??? Anymore I feel like rares and abyss mobs just beeline right past my like 15 minions and chase me forever.

Because your level 23, lol.

Get to like level 50+ once and watch how amazing it is when properly built out.

Literally drop contagion on groups, throw a few eds in and while minoins hold the line toss down the FIREPOWER which is x2 or more totems(Dark Effigy) which are superpowered by talents. come back and tell me how bad ed/contagion is then.

Also keep in mind you must be speced for ed/contagaion to work properly.

it sucks for you becasue your still in baby levels and have no gear.


All builds suck when you have no gear and are in baby levels.

Go focus on leveling.

Get a +2 spell/chaos skill wand, a +1 spell/chaos skill focus and a +1 spell/chaos skill amulet.

Your damage will at least double with the +4 skill level.
