I am not excited for the August league - And here's why.

I'm still wondering who in the team has such horrible ideas to launch a game as early access, and then stop communicating and just treat it as complete release, while still missing like 80% of the game.

You would think they have more experience in game dev than that.

The game itself is fairly fleshed out. It's mostly balance changes that need to happen.
That being said me and my group of friends has decided to go back to playing FF14. The leveling experience, crafting, raid design, are all just better. Maybe we'll be back. However, FF14 just has more to it than PoE2. The systems are all much more rewarding outside of character ability interactions..

It's a decent game as it is. However, it won't match up to other games in terms of player retention or interest. Especially with people who are newer to the ARPG genre.

Since my original post i really thought about it and this game just cant compete with other games in terms of long term enjoyability and I'd rather play FF14 so myself and my group of 15ish friends probably won't be coming back. Hopefully they are able to fix the game and I'll play it in a few years.

Yes, one of the biggest problems that GGG do not have enough people to maintain both games.
"
as long as other sections get buffed and the builds that got nerfed are still playable and able to clear T4 pinnacles.

That's something that GGG has unfortunately never been very good about. When they nerf things, they tend to nerf them down into oblivion into an unplayable state for many leagues.

For example, I would expect Blood Mage to be completely destroyed in 0.3.0 due to how good it is now.

Good to know cuz I'm new to PoE as of January.
Unfortunately, as a developer, that's pretty much an unacceptable level of incompetence for me when it comes to games. If a dev teams balancing is just Uber nerfing things to the ground I'm not going play the game.

its not incompetence, the brutal nerfing with simultaneous release of new OP content is very intentional.

You can intentionally be incompetent. Willful and weaponized incompetence are pretty well discussed topics

what?! i think you are confusing it with deception, as in purposefully appear incompetent to hide your intentions
Yes. Intentional incompetence is a form of deception I'm fully aware of what I meant. English is my first language and my intnet was that they are intentionally feigning incompetence as that's what "willful incompetence" is. It's a way to deflecting responsibility.

Either way choosing to nerf things into the ground intentionally is even worse in my opinion. But I'm not really here to argue that or anything really. Just giving my feedback on why I wont be excited for 0.3.0

it is worse and has nothing to do with incompetence. i wanted you to understand that this is how they lure ppl to play new seasons. so best of luck with 'not plying'. see you in 0.3 ;)
