WTF is unconstructive about "screw you taking away content for lower casual players"
I understand completely where the OP is coming from and I agree wholeheartedly.
For years now GGG has been moving steadily closer towards gating absolutely anything decent in the game behind pinnacle, even uber pinnacle content. An example of this would be removing non-uber Elder from yellow maps and moving it exclusively to red maps, where it doesn't even make any sense because by the time you get that far into the end game, non-uber Elder is a joke, easier than the guardians... Another example of this would be removing the already good Wraithlord unique from the core drop pool and redesigning it into a T17 exclusive Catarina drop... Another, aside from the Catarina gating, this patch introduced a new story arc that apparently doesn't even start until red maps, because, playing casually and re-rolling often, I haven't even started it yet... And Trarthan Gems are map restricted... Almost all good uniques in the game have either been moved to be uber pinnacle drops or T0... Even normal, pinnacle drops are mostly garbage now. And trust me, playing casually with no IIR gear, you would be lucky if you ever even found a single T2 item per league... Breachlord domains are now much less accessible, as their easier versions have been removed... I could probably go on. I am genuinely worried now about future reworks of existing content. The problem with doing this is that it makes the game no fun until you get to that uber pinnacle content... the very end of the game. That seems kind of foolhardy if you are a game dev, a lot of people may quit the game before then. I really hope they move away from this trend. |
